Short but challenging.
This course is relatively short, about 5000 yards. However, the front nine has water on seven of the nine holes and they are tricky. This is a great course to work on your long and short irons.. although, unless you are a long hitter, you’ll get plenty of use of your driver as well.
The course itself is very well-maintained. It’s a public course but rivals most private courses in the conditions of the fairways and greens.
Front nine closed because of rain
Front nine closed because of recent rain, so had to play back nine twice. That was OK for the first nine, but the second nine was all backed up with players. Would have been good to know ahead of time that only 9 holes were open.
Challenging and Fun but never in great condition
This is the course I grew up next to and playing on so it feels like home.
The front 9 is very challenging with water coming into play on 7 of 9 holes and 3 peninsula greens. The back 9 is very easy and fun with water only coming into play on about 1 or 2 holes.
The course is scenic with nice views. And the driving range is fully lit up until 10 pm.
The course is never in great shape. The greens are slow and usually a little uncut.
Only back 9
There has been a lot of rain but we were surprised when we arrived for our tee time to learn that the front 9 was closed. We were told we could play the back twice.
Greens were very slow and tees were unmowed. Still, it’s a fun course to play just disappointed in the conditions and limitations.
Very Good City Course
The staff is friendly. The course is in very good shape and the greens are real nice. Took 3 1/2 hours on a Sunday afternoon; good pace of play.
Bad rating b/c of the employees
Course had some issues with the greens and tee boxes being sandy . Main issue was at the 17th hole , someone in my group was down to a range ball left in the bag and decided to play with that. Gets his ball on the green for a birdie putt and out of no where the pro shop guy ( kid name Michael) and the guy who takes cares of the cart drove up from behind us onto the green and PICKS UP. his range ball he just hit. I yelled that he just hit that and they responded no range balls allowed on the course and drove off back to the clubhouse .
Never witnessed something like that happen on a golf course . Ruined the entire golf round and messed up our game. We ask him why he did that after the round and he stated again range ball wasn’t allowed on the course and then adds he was taking back his property. No one from the group went to the range prior to our tee time so that was a load of crap and wouldn’t acknowledge he made a mistake by not even allowing us to replace the ball before abruptly driving off the green. We overpaid for a course that’s not worth above $30 on a Sunday and had to deal with that bs that ruined the round.
Rude Staff (Michal). Won’t go back again.
Finished round in about 3 hrs 40 mins... Course was in bad shape but the starter had warned us before that the conditions were suspect. So we had no issues... until the 17th green. My partner that doesn’t play often hit his best approach shot of the day to front edge of the 17th green for a birdie look. As other members of our 4some hit their approach shots, Michal, who checked us in for the round, and another staff member drove up to the green and went to grab the ball. When we yelled that it was ours, he rudely yelled back “no it’s ours!” We then told him it was one of our approach shots and he’d just hit it there. He then screamed that it was his bc it was a range ball and drove off even after we insisted that it was ours... Keep in mind that they have neon yellow range balls and this was a yellow range ball that had actually come from another course. After this SHOCKING display of golf etiquette, we will never play this course again when punks like that are responsible for operating a golf course. When you get charged over 40 bucks after tax to play on a sub par condition course, the last thing you’d expect is a staff member telling you that you don’t know what ball is yours. Pretty pitiful and embarrassing to be honest.
Best value in Central Florida
Course is in good shape, been playing here for years and they're really making.a strong effort. 1st and 2nd cuts on the greens and was shocked. Got in 18 in just over 3 hours. Keep up the great work!
bad greens
I don't play fancy/expensive courses but I do want to be able to putt when I get to the greens. Today 10/13/20 it appeared they did not mow the greens and in some places the grass was very sparse. With furry greens it is impossilbe to figure breaks and speed so very frustrating. They had also sent out an email advertising $2.50 brats which they did not have but offered hot dogs for the same price. Big difference between the two.
tee time
I arrived early ,but at my tee time, the others scheduled at the same time didn't show. The starter said I couldn't go out alone, even though no one had teed off for at least 20 minutes. Another foursome came out with very slow players and finally a threesome came out who he put me with. It's not fair that I had to wait when I had a tee time reserved. After the 3rd hole I drove ahead and finished by myself on time and never caught up with anyone..
Good condition
Nice course and friendly staff make it a pleasure to play here.
