Plantation Preserve Golf Course

22 Players for a 3 day Tournament, February 2025. The Greens and Fairways were very good. Staff, very helpful! The golf professional went out of his way to make it a grand occasion. Looking forward to return next year.

The buffet fellowship at the end was awesome.

This course has always been nice but lately it’s not being take care of they are letting the weeds take over fairways and rough hopefully they can put attention to this . Greens are good. Course does not look prestine.

I can’t thank the team at Plantation Preserve enough for going above and beyond when I decided to propose to my girlfriend on the 18th hole. From start to finish, they made sure everything was absolutely perfect, creating a truly unforgettable moment. Dean in the pro shop ensured everything went according to plan and made sure I was all set up for the big moment. Tim was a rock star, driving my cameraman to the 18th hole and helping him find the perfect hiding spot so that the surprise would go off without a hitch when I pulled the ring from the hole. And a special shoutout to Nikki, the cart lady, who brought us champagne to celebrate after she said yes – she really made the moment even more special.

The staff at Plantation Preserve treated us like family, and their excitement for me was genuine. It was a memory of a lifetime, and I will always consider this course the greatest I’ve ever played. Thank you to everyone, especially Steve, for helping to make this day unforgettable. Highly recommend Plantation Preserve to anyone looking for a beautiful course and a team that truly cares.

I'm writing this from the Westside General Hospital emergency room on December 15th at 8:30 PM. I suffered a brutal assault while simply sitting on the steps of the Plantation Preserve Country Club by "Ron," a large black man. Many reviews note that he is an ongoing problem. He appears to be an ex-bodybuilder or an ex-NFL player. I am also writing this for legal purposes. The course has been asked by the police to preserve any video camera evidence. My lawyer will also be contacting them on Monday for evidence. This is a place I've been to before, and everyone was extremely kind. I used the location to simply watch the sunset at the clubhouse.

I was assaulted at a golf course in Plantation, Florida, at the clubhouse. I pulled up on my motorcycle and parked at the clubhouse. I asked a man in the lot what time they close the gate for closing, and he responded angrily, saying he doesn't know, then proceeded very angrily, stating that I could not walk on the golf course. I went to the steps at the clubhouse and sat on the stairs as I always have. People have been friendly with me there before, but this man was very angry. I sat for about ten minutes, and the moment I stood up to walk back to my scooter, he was there the whole time waiting. He just started screaming at me, telling me that I couldn't walk on the golf course. I was sitting there for a moment for stress relief, so I was upset and yelled back that I was leaving. He started coming toward me on the sidewalk, the only way back to my motorcycle. I told him I wasn't going to do anything, and neither was he. As I tried to pass him, he suddenly started swinging at me like he was in a full-blown fight. I was hit in the face, knocked down, and hit in my chest. I did not fight back, thinking his assault was so outrageous that we had to be in range of a video camera. So, I was hit in the face and chest, and I tried to get away from him. He pretended to call the police but didn't. Because I didn't feel safe, I tried to leave, but he was standing over my bike. I tried to take a photo of his car plate, and he stole my helmet. I felt I couldn't leave and started to scream for help. He then saw someone, and I got on my scooter and went to the other side of the clubhouse where people were. I was informed there were cameras at the clubhouse, and I might be able to get the tape in the morning and speak to management. This maniac heard that and continued to try to follow me wherever I went. This is when he actually called the police. His fake calls to the police were just to scare me away because he knew he was wrong. He then told the police that I was banned from the property because he wanted me to not be able to get the tape the following day. An attempt at evidence spoliation. An ambulance came, and I decided to take myself after speaking to the supervisor of Plantation Police because I fully intend on pressing charges, even if they want to classify it as a misdemeanor. Right now, there are no charges, but there will be, and I am in the emergency room right now getting checked out. I'm writing all of this so there are no excuses by the club. I intend to sue the country club and document my injuries. I have bad chest pain, shoulder and left wrist are sprain fractured. I have several x-rays as I have some serious issues with breathing. My shoulder also popped out, not to mention being punched and kicked while on the ground. I refused to fight because I'm certain this is on tape. The entire clubhouse is a country club, and this message is a timestamp in case these people attempt to erase evidence and support this maniac who assaults someone watching a sunset. This guy has serious issues, and he told the police he knew he messed up. The police tried to get me to just let it go as if he admitted guilt. I will not stop making videos and spreading the word about this place until I receive a large settlement. I have time know social media marketing and press releases. I will not cease in destroying the public perception of Plantation Preserve. PTSD from Negligence. My lawyer will call, there are several Google reviews calling out Ron by name for being a huge problem. It's just now he's finally gone to far

Although we did not play on this day in June, the course is a great course and always well maintained. We did however use the facility for our wedding. We have gone to the preserve many times for brunch, breakfast and lunch and had great meals. We chose the facility for it's beautiful views and level of service. Also it was one of the few locations that offered a large menu selection for our guests with great food! The chef Chris and his team provided excellent meals and every guest was pleased with the food. Also Melissa and her team provided the best service when coordinating the event and making the day a true success! We can't thank the teams there enough for making our day special extraordinary and we look forward to our next visit to the Preserve.

This past weekend our group Veteran’s Golf Association was hosted by Plantation Preserve and Golf Pro Steve Madsen, We had a tremendous experience! Steve was instrumental in assisting our group with scoring, pace of play and making our many disabled members feel welcome, The course is beautiful and the hospitality was genuine, We look forward to visiting this wonderful facility again in the future, A big THANK YOU to all!

I have played here many times and was always impressed wirh course conditions. Not any more. Shocking to see weeds growing all over fairways. Weeds around the greens and small weeds actually on the greens. Speed of greens was slow but that’s winter conditions. Tee box grass was not even cut. Not sure what course managers are not doing but it’s definitely not the course it once was. The layout of the course is great and it’s pretty until you actually play it

Staff is great PLEASE Bring the course back to the conditions we all expect from a “signature” course.

This course should not be anywhere near the $120 that they charge for it. The crab grass fairways and greens with patches all over them tells you that no one cares about the conditions at all. It is literally unplayable. I wanted to go in and speak with the pro or shop staff after my round, but they were gone soon after the last paying customer paid. What a joke this place has become.

We visited south Florida a couple years ago and distinctly remember this course being our favorite that we played. We were so excited to have the chance to book it again on our current trip down. What a difference a couple years makes. The fairways are extremely patchy and full of weeds. Edges around the course are just destroyed. The greens are completely littered with ball marks, dead spots and are extremely slow. Food in the clubhouse was terrible. Such a shame because this was a total gem not long ago. Don’t know if it’s a seasonal problem but right now this track is not up to par.

How can you return after the pro shop lies to you? Just before our 1 pm start, they put five foursomes out in front of us shotgun style on the first five holes after Jeff assured me it was only one foursome. Then this group immediately in front of us played as if it were cart path only when it was clearly not. Rangers? Non-existent. We did what anyone else would do--we quit after a 3 hour and 10-minute front nine. I would complain about the conditioning but that would be piling on.

Good lord these greens are slow. I’m not sure if they just haven’t mowed but they were rolling at maybe a 7. If they’re able to get them moving you might be able to play the breaks every now and then. Otherwise, this is a challenging course and a great layout.

First time playing the course, played as a single first tee time in the morning. Was paired with two other singles who were great guys and had a great time, We finished in 3 hours and felt like we were the only ones out there. Course was in great shape and offered many challenging holes. Greens were a little slower than what I was used to, but they were in excellent condition as was the rest of the course. Course is pricey since it is peak season in Florida but you get what you pay for. I will certainly play again when in the area.

GOOD…

Course in good shape. Greens were firm and good. They putted at a good speed. The only complaint is the fairways do have some spots of crabgrass throughout them. The greens have some small rough areas but most are on the edges of the greens and don’t come into play.

Each cart has a GPS system. Wonderful touch.

Some memorable holes. Hole 7 with the railroad ties around the water. Hole 9 with the clubhouse in the background and an island green. Holes 15 & 17 with a double green.

They do use green sand to fill in the divots. This really improves the aesthetics of the course.

LOT OF SAND…

This course has a lot of sand. Much of it is not aesthetically edged, therefore it is not pleasing to the eye. The par 3, 5th hole has one of the most expansive bunkers you will see.

BAD…

Several holes are difficult to play and only slow down play. These are holes 6 & 14.

The cart girl was speeding and nearly hit us on a bridge. She didn’t even stop to ask if we needed anything.

The driving range is just to the right of hole 1. Many range balls in the fairway of hole 1.

INTERESTING…

Many crows on the golf course. Once you leave your cart toward the green, the crows will fly down and take any food in your cart.

After a nice round, returning the cart was... strange. A staff member started cleaning our clubs then walked away. We were pretty much ignored after that . We had to load clubs in car ourselves and then return the cart. The car was less than 20 feet from curb. It was our second time there, had our clubs cleaned and placed in car the first time! We do TIP! We will play there again but will be prepared for the rudeness.

PLAYED WITH GROUP OF 16, SENT OUT BEHIND GROUP OF COURSE MEMBERS PLAYING A TOURNAMENT. FRONT 9 WAS THREE HOURS WAITED ON EVERY HOLE TO HIT TO GREEN AS MEMBERSHIP TOOK FOREVER ON GREEN TO PUTT. THEY SAW US WAITING ON EVERY HOLE AND MADE NO ATTEMPT TO KEEP UP WITH GROUP IN FRONT. PRO SHOP SENT US A BOGUS MESSAGE ON CART GPS ADVISING GROUP WAS ADVISED OF THEIR SLOW PACE AND THAT WE SHOULD CONTINUE TO KEEP UP. AFTER 12 HOLES CALLED PRO SHOP AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD SEND SOMEONE OUT TO TAKE CARE OF SLOWPOKES. SAW THE RANGER ON 13 TEE AND ASKED HIM IF HE ADVISED GROUP TO SPEED UPHIS REPLY WAS, NOTHING SAID TO GROUP BECAUSE THEY WERE MEMBERS PLAYING IN TOURNAMENT. ONE OF THEM WORKED IN PRO SHOP AND THEY ALL SHOULD KNOW BETTER BUT HE WAS NOT GOING TO SAY ANYTHING

AFTER FINISHING ROUND OUR GROUP OF 16 HAD NO WHERE TO SIT INSIDE CLUB HOUSE BECAUSE SLOWPOKE MEMBERS WERE HAVING AWARDS FUNCTION AND OTHER HALF OF CLUBHOUSE WAS HOSTING PRIVATE PARTY

THEY HAVE NO PROBLEM TAKING OUR $1600 GREEN FEE BUT WILL NOT GIVE US ANY ACCOMODATIONS. MANY NICE COURSES IN AREA WILL NOT SUPPORT THIS ILK AGAIN

The course was challenging but fair with multiple tee boxes. The greens were true. Will definitely play again next year.

One of my favorite courses in SFL. Beautiful layout, Playable, on the ample side, lots of somewhat challenging water, several nature areas.

Conditions are usually almost excellent, but there were some unusual hiccups: Range hitting area and Tees #2 being rebuilt, Fairways had punches and grooves; both acceptable as it's proper keeping. However there is an out of character problem with the bunkers, they have become hard as concrete, to the point that it's very difficult to impossible to hit under the balls.

This is a situation that requires urgent attention so that this jewel stays as good as we are use to.

Would be great if walking was allowed, even at w/cart rates. Both comparable Miami Beach and Normandy Shores do allow it
