Palms at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort

Sand traps werE water logged. Terrible conditions in the traps from leaving the sprinklers on just before playing

Excellent course, unfortunately the bunkering was in poor condition and that shouldn't be the case at a resort of Marriott Desert Springs caliber. That's especially true with their elevated golf fees! Still an enjoyable course to play -- just don't hit it in the bunkers.

I have to say the landscape and surroundings are lovely but there is virtually no sand in the bunkers , staff in the pro gave you the feeling you were an annoyance not a customer.

The saving grace where the team members getting your clubs onto your cart and on your way.

The food service offered may have been some of the worst ever - pre made sandwiches with limited options

Pace of play was great…3 hrs and 40 minutes, greens were great! But watch out when playing #9 and #10. Range balls nearly caught us on both holes. We were counting the number of range balls in those two fairways and stopped counting after we got to 50! Don’t understand why netting is not installed! Talked to an assistant professional and he commented that “it doesn’t matter what we might try to do there are just so many bad golfers out there!” Not the response that’s too positive when liability might be involved. Unsafe and such a distraction. Here in Coachella another month…will probably find other places to play. Too bad!

Canadian Geese residue on too many green surrounds. Never a good sign when you come off a course and blow off the bottom of your golf shoes and remove entire surface of goose poop. Had to take two separate drops to be able to putt a line that was otherwise covered. Unfortunate, everything else was great!

Terrible $20 turkey sandwich with stale bread. Yuk! Also, bag drop area is not attended. There should be a guy there to unload clubs from the car, check on t-times, etc.

Very enjoyable hotel course in Palm Desert! Immaculate scenery and features; well maintained and presents very good variety of holes. Fun round!

I only played 12 holes. We waited basically on every hole. There was a foursome in front of us but in front of the foursome was a group of 6. When I returned to the clubhouse after 12 holes the staff asked how I enjoyed the course. I told them there was a group of 6 playing together. All they said was the group must have paired up. There did not seem to be a care by the staff. If they had rangers on the course this likely would not have happened. With the price of this course you would expect more care by the staff.

The course was beautiful, great views, fairways in great shape, greens were fine. It was however it was a 6 hour round of golf. Teed off at 12:48 and left the course at 5:40 as sun went down with 3 holes to play. The tee boxes were lined up with Three foursomes. No Marshals to regulate pace of play. Very disappointing.

Nice course layout, but do NOT play here unless they pay you to play it. 6 hours at $185 per player. Zero marshals on the course with 3 to 4 groups waiting on every tee box. I demand a full refund! Horrible experience.

Enjoyed playing the Palms course for the first time. Only comment would be that most of the traps I was in had very little sand at the bottom - made it difficult to get I’ve the high banks and keep a ball on the green. Otherwise all high marks.
