Desert Springs Resort has a longstanding reputation as a luxury resort that offers something for everyone. There are two championship golf courses that sprawl across beautifully landscaped grounds covered with lush vegetation and sparkling lagoons, providing a scenic oasis amidst the desert surroundings. From nearly every hole at the resort, golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the Coachella Valley and Santa Rosa Mountains. Water is the most prominent feature of both golf courses. Between the two of them, over 35 acres of water features come into play. The Palms Course is the slightly more challenging layout of the two, but both are accessible to players of all skill levels. The layout features well guarded greens, thick rough and towering palm trees bordering the holes. It has a memorable finishing stretch that starts with an island par-3 on the 17th and finishes with a tricky dogleg par 4 with water all along the left side.

The pro shop personnel were not friendly nor did they give any directions on where to go to hit balls or practice putting. The only drinking water on the course was from a fountain otherwise you had to purchase a small water bottle for $3.00, remember we’re in a desert. No marshal on the course and the group ahead of us was SLOW! Would not waste money playing here.

Course yes. Beverages tooooo much.

Everything was perfect until I ordered a beer and a bottle of water. 3.00 for the water and 9.00 for the Corona. With a 3.00 tip thats 15.00 for two bevarages. WATER SHOULD BE 2.00 AND THE CORONA SHOULD HAVE BEEN 6.00. Ill play golf there but I wont buy anything there. Besides this is September. Not March???

Slow pace of life play

Teed off at 7:04 Saturday morning. 3 hours to play the front nine. Decided to jump ahead and try to finish before 1pm but found the entire back nine was packed with golfers and that must have been sent off the back nine. Was pretty much forced to terminate our round once we didn’t find a spot to play because there were 10 groups ahead of us. I’m pretty sure we were the third group off the first tee. Whole course was locked up by mid morning. We won’t be coming back here again.

Beautiful course Not crowded in August.

I played the white tees because that is where I usually belong. (18 handicapper). I shot a good score. Then I checked the scorecard and realized it’s only 5500 yards from the whites. With a low rating and slope. I would recommend the blues from 6150 for me next time, as well as for all mid handicappers. Course was green and in good condition. You can usually find a little shade if you do have to wait, as this course is mature, built in the mid 1980s. Good layout. Some water, bunkers in good condition.

Cart service person rude. My green fee was for free

replay. He refuse for us to play again. He said that there has not been a free replay in three months. My two friends had room at JW was very upset.
