Desert Springs Resort has a longstanding reputation as a luxury resort that offers something for everyone. There are two championship golf courses that sprawl across beautifully landscaped grounds covered with lush vegetation and sparkling lagoons, providing a scenic oasis amidst the desert surroundings. From nearly every hole at the resort, golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the Coachella Valley and Santa Rosa Mountains. Water is the most prominent feature of both golf courses. Between the two of them, over 35 acres of water features come into play. The Palms Course is the slightly more challenging layout of the two, but both are accessible to players of all skill levels. The layout features well guarded greens, thick rough and towering palm trees bordering the holes. It has a memorable finishing stretch that starts with an island par-3 on the 17th and finishes with a tricky dogleg par 4 with water all along the left side.

Golfen old lady

The course is a great layout; I have played many times. The conditions of the greens are healing from being punched and sanded. The area around the greens is thin or muddy. the fairways and tee boxes are OK. The overall staff was very good except when we finished our round the cart attendant refuse to take us to the bag drop, we had to carry our bags to the bag drop. Not Marriott quality i would drive an hour for.

Best value !

I absolutely enjoy this course, a beautiful set up. Well kept the only grumble I have is the locals don’t seem to rake the bunker's.

Challenging Course

Great conditions, great staff, and challenging course. Makes sure to keep an eye on you shots. With all the hills sometimes it can be hard to see your ball a foot in the rough. Yes I shouldn’t be hitting it in the rough but I’m not a pro so there’s that. Cool water hazards and if you’re lucky you’ll see a giant of a carp ha. Hole 17-18.

I loved everything about this course.

I played in June and the rate was very good for the type of course experience that it offers. I’m sure that the rate jumps dramatically during the months of good weather. I would love to play this course when it’s not so hot, just not sure if I can afford it 😀.

Excellent course

Coachella Valley is filled with really good courses that are in great shape. The Palm course is added to our list of places to revisit!

Every part of our experience was top notch, and the course conditions were excellent despite the 115° temperature. The greens were especially notable for their smooth roll and relatively good speed despite the hot season.

The only reason that I only gave 4 stars for the value is that we’ve played several courses in similar condition that cost almost half to play, but this Marriott layout is a definite thumbs-up!

This course has great features

This course was challenging, with a lot of hills, slopes, bunkers and water as obstacles. Wide open tee boxes, with a greatly maintained fairways and rough. The greens were true, and well maintained.

Great, Fun Course - Challenging but not punishing

Olympic Club Lake Course is my home, so I am used to really challenging course. I found the Palm Course to be fun, not too difficult but challenging enough to get my attention. The undulations in the fairways, green complexes and pin placements made it a challenge.

The length was shorter than I'm used to, but also kept things fun. Overall, great experience and fun course. I would book another round here in future. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Layout is outstanding. Very challenging. Course could be in better shape. Not up to the standards of the resort.

Could be in better shape

The course layout was very fun. Some really good and interesting holes. The greens were just OK. The place didn't seem well-kept, which was surprising given how well-known the course is. Seems like management has fallen asleep at the wheel a bit.
