Desert Springs Resort has a longstanding reputation as a luxury resort that offers something for everyone. There are two championship golf courses that sprawl across beautifully landscaped grounds covered with lush vegetation and sparkling lagoons, providing a scenic oasis amidst the desert surroundings. From nearly every hole at the resort, golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the Coachella Valley and Santa Rosa Mountains. Water is the most prominent feature of both golf courses. Between the two of them, over 35 acres of water features come into play. The Palms Course is the slightly more challenging layout of the two, but both are accessible to players of all skill levels. The layout features well guarded greens, thick rough and towering palm trees bordering the holes. It has a memorable finishing stretch that starts with an island par-3 on the 17th and finishes with a tricky dogleg par 4 with water all along the left side.

Great Course but Bad Staffing and Service

had an early morning tee time. the person helping us out at the cart area, maybe he was having a bad morning or what... just didn't want to help us. every question I asked him, he answered it with something else. and just wouldn't answer my questions....I really wanted to say something to him but didn't want to ruin my day. the fairway was awesome. the pace was awesome. until we got to the back 9 and someone just joined late it seems like... after that we had to wait on every single hole for them to start/finish. 3rd member for that group just flew in from somewhere and made the holes even longer... they were chit chatting before they hit and made us every longer... green was not in the best condition but it rolled pretty good. I wish the few things that happened, didn't, then it would have been 5 stars all across the board. awesome view and the course.

Marriott Palm Course

A picturesque course with lots of water, sand and flowers to look at during the round. Choice of tee boxes mixes up the challenge on this resort course. Excellent condition, particularly for a resort course, and friendly staff from the pro shop to the cart return.

Not worth the money

Unfortunately, I was disappointed golfing at the Desert Springs Marriott Palm Course. Very slow pace of play. No Marshall helping the problem. No snack shop near the check in area (no ability to purchase water) or no water provided in the carts. The greens were like concrete and very beat up. Beautiful course but not worth the money.

My personal experience

Arrived in the pro shop and excited to just play golf my local private course I belong to is doing work on the course and I didn’t want to play interrupted golf. As I approach the desk to pay for my green fees I innocently asked what’s the difference between the dunes and the Mountain layout degree of difficulty slope or anything I was told in a very demeaning way that the course was $189 versus the $79 that I was paying and I was only paying the cheaper rate and I said money is no object I just don’t like being insulted thinking that I’m some poor idiot! hey can’t afford to play golf ! I will never return to this facility again. I brought out two friend whom are members of Wood Ranch CZc in LA and they were embarrassed . The dunes course looked terrible and looked like a resort desperate for revenue. This facility is not even a true PGA West facility in fact they are several miles away and using the name to claim the money. Disliked that entire experience. SilverRock and Desert Willow are far better facilities!!!

Greens not completely healed-No hold

Beautiful track and landscapes were spoiled by the greens that wouldn't hold any approach shot over 100 yards. I'd like to play again with better greens.

remember it's a resort course

and there will be players out there that lose a dozen balls and slow everyone else down. that said, the pace was still under 4.5 hours.. we waited on every tee box, no ranger in sight. good fairways and condition. greens were very challenging

Marriott Palms Course a disaster

The pace of play was very slow (5 hours for 18). The management overloaded the course with too many players.

The green were a disaster. Mostly bare and very lumpy. Impossible to make a putt move true to the hole. The ball actually wobbles on its way to the hole. Will never play here again, since there are many other good options in Palm Desert.

Shame on Marriott management.

Resort Course, much better options in area

Pretty standard resort course, group was pretty underwhelmed. Some fun shots and holes but nothing overly memorable, I could have played that course in the Midwest.
