Great value
Typical Florida course from what I’ve seen. Wide open fairways. Greens were a little rough and fast. Staff was friendly. Nobody on the course. Cruised through in 3 hours. Great value.
Poorly maintained
Grass was way too long and greens were rough. Couldn't find ball 3 feet off fairway.
What happened
Conditions were clearly better last year. Not sure what happened but the greens are in bad shape and the course looks neglected. Perhaps the rain and excessive water may have had something to do with it but maintaining the course from debris and simple maintenance. Clearly looks like it’s been neglected. Hope it improves.
Quiet, slow pace and wonderful natural presserve animal life course
best course for begginers, slow pace on monday wednesday and friday. heavy roughs, bring extra balls. Club house sells used balls and snack are super happy ppl. thy bring updates on the
course and help you enjoy your round. Grounds keepers get to each morning sandtrap and greens and fairs are blowen free of leaves,
GREAT START YOUR WINTER ROUND, ENJOY !!
Could be lovely but needs work!
Tee boxes were weedy and not trimmed,
Greens were weedy and the fringe was shaggy.
Sand traps had no sand and no rakes.
There was water damage in areas throughout the course.
Fairways same as above.
We pretty much had the course to ourselves. Not a surprise due to course conditions.
There is a lot of water on the course. It did not come onto play that much.
Lost balls were from hitting a ball into the rough that was so deep if a ball went under the weeds, it could. Ot be found.
They were dredging the canals, and there were piles of weeds and gunk piled on the edges.
Course condition
Sad to say but the course is very poor condition. If you hit a ball even slightly off the fairway it is so overgrown that you can loose it at least 30 percent of the time. Fairways very poor. Greens terrible some with 50 percent bare areas. Sand traps a disaster many overgrown with weeds. The pro shop manager was excellent ! She explained the issues that has caused this situation . I think the layout is very good and I hope they can bring the course back to normal but I doubt it.
Pelican bay
The course was fun to play, they are recovering from hurricane damage so the greens were a little spotty and some areas with standing water. I enjoyed the round.
Needs work
Would not have played this course, except I got a great rate for obvious reasons. The fairways are OK, green, but not necessarily with grass. The greens, however, are weedy and bare in places, and the sand traps are in horrible condition. I like the layout and hope the owners can get it back into shape.
Waste of money.
Course was in bad shape. No practice putting green and the range was closed. Had a difficult time checking in with my reservation on this app. There was a large group in front of me, as I was playing as a single. That was curious enough to let me through and even called his friends a hole a head to let them know I was going through. That was pretty much the only positive. Don't waste your time.
North course
Hadn't played here in years...used to be immaculate. Course was not busy so pace was great but I soon found out why. Tee boxes were so shaggy that your tee all but disappeared. Fairways weedy and long.Greens were slow and full of bare spots. Used to be 2 courses in pelican and this was the primo. Now it is worse than a muni. Cheap enough but with no beverage cart...closed snack bar... and rude staff on mowers....no real reason to play here.
improvement needed
Pelican Bay had been improving but it's sliding back. Tee Boxes need to be cut. Sandtraps are hard. No rakes as well. Greens are ok but there are some bad spots. If you hit off the fairway, it can be a challenge to find your ball. Fairways are mostly good. Interesting course that needs better maintenance. No water to drink. No restroom facilities on the course.
Great Deal
This place isn't perfect, It's tight in areas and keeps you guessing on where the next hole is, BUT they do a pretty good job of keeping it in good shape, some challenging holes. Staff is AWESOME! The on course restaurant is one of the best! Do like going to this place and defiantly recommend it!
Golfer Beware….
Could be a great course, but…
The course had not been mowed, or taken care of over the last three days (which the club hose staff told me right when I was paying). This was due to weather, which is out of anyone’s control ( there were a lot of breaks in weather that they could have tried to fix tee boxes /greens alone and basic maintenance that was overlooked). I asked if I should skip or cancel, but the golf attendant was not a very friendly and told me that I was going to be charged anyway, even though they had not taken care of the grounds. Everything was horribly wet and soaked. Very pretty wild life all over, but almost impossible to play. Course should’ve been closed due to how soaked it was. Thought I would give this a try since a lot of the reviews said that the course was starting to get better. Waste of money. After talking to family members that I was visiting in the area, they said I should have asked them about it because it’s not known to be a very good course. Very surprising for a country club.
Go to the LPGA course in Daytona instead (better staff and much better grounds)
