Best condition in years
Like other reviews I'm glad to see the conditions at this course are getting better. It's very playable & I'll return.
Pros
--pace of play
--good fairways
--cost
--layout
--greens are slow but with only a few bad spots
Cons
--areas off fairway are in poor condition
--no sand rakes
So much better
Course is so much better than the last few years….. well done!
Course in terrible condition
Course is in terrible condition. It is like playing on concrete from tee to hole. No grass on tee boxes, Fairway is very dry with little grass. Ball just hops in any direction. Greens in poor condition Dry and have weeds growing on them which changes roll of ball . Pace of play was very slow, but might be related to course condition. Left after 15 holes and 4 1/2 hrs. Starters were very pleasant and agreed that conditions are bad. Pro shop is in bar and did not stay for a meal. Too bad as lay out is very interesting Will not return
Slow play
I had to quit after 10 holes because of the pace of play. It took 3 hrs to play 10 holes. They need a ranger to push people along. They need to group players in 4somes. They also need racks in the bunkers and drinking water on the course.
Pelican Bay
Considering the time of year, the fairways were green and in great shape. Greens were nice and smooth. Water hazards down both sides of most holes, really makes you try and keep ball down the middle.
Horrible condition
Terrible greens, uncut tee boxes, cart path so bad expect to have back surgery unless you go 1/2 Mike per hour, run down everything, nothing nice about it’s presentation. Not a single ball washer. See pics of 16 green tons of ground brush fallen branches etc.
Worse Golf Course on the East coast period
The tees were not mowed, the greens had sand pits on them, the staff are rude, and the sprinklers would come on at certain times (it's 1140 on a Thursday) and when asking the maintenance guy when they will be turned off we get " they'll go off when I turn them off" response. This place has the audacity to charge $42 when in fact this place should be shut down for abandonment. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible, avoid at all cost.
So much better
I have played this course a number of times over the last few years . It was OK for the price .
Played it this year a few times and can not believe how much it has improved, greens are very good, traps are looked after , not real busy , but it can only be because people are not giving it a try . For the area and the price it is a gem.
Thanks so much for putting forth the effort needed to turn this into the go to spot .
Look forward to many return rounds!
Thanks
P
No racks
The course has not been in this good of shape in 7 years. The fairways are good, the greens are good and the rough needs some work. The only complaint is that the bunkers have no rakes and if you are unfortunate to land in somebody's foot print is not ideal. I asked the person in the club house why there were no rakes and her answer amazed me. She said no rakes because the maint guys run over them and destroy them. My 1st thought was fire the imbeciles and hire competent people. I guess if this is the only bad thing it is worth playing this course for the price.

challenging greens when sand trap on the green
Great Layout
Had a great round of golf on a perfect day. The overall condition for time of year was good, especially the greens and sand traps. A few spotty areas on the greens, otherwise they rolled well. Worth playing
