Great Layout
Had a great round of golf on a perfect day. The overall condition for time of year was good, especially the greens and sand traps. A few spotty areas on the greens, otherwise they rolled well. Worth playing
Winter golf
Hard to find entrance… friendly staff and helpful. Restaurant was closed . Small selection of cold sandwiches and cold beer. Again it’s winter.
Small greens ran true abit slow.
Nice course . Greens, tee boxes and fairways nice and green. We were put out as a foursome and everyone else were pairs so that didn’t work out great but we will definitely be back!
Beautiful course
Wow! I haven't played here in about 6 months. They did a complete do-over. The tee boxes are groomed and perfect. Fairways are manicured and beautiful with no weeds just grass. On the sides of the fairways, they have cleaned up where possible the sticks branches and weeds. Every single sand trap with manicured to perfection. The greens are clean and fast. I would recommend Pelican Bay golf course to anyone in the area. A great value for your money. Come on back and give it a try. No I'm not related to anybody that works here. Just a flogger like you.
Good course with some character
Second time playing this course. First time the pace was very slow taking almost 5 hours to play but today played in less than 4 hours, even though there was a group of 6 ahead of us. They kept it moving. I like the layout of the course even though there is water on most holes. It’s your own fault usually when you find the water. I would play here again. The fairways are in good shape as are the tee boxes. The greens run fairly true.
Pleasantly surprised
I saw reviews from last year for this course and was leery about the conditions but the course is in good shape. I am in Florida on vacation and would like to bring my wife to ride with me but was told I can’t even though there was nobody in front or behind me.
Other than that it’s a nice course.
Pelican Bay is improving….pleasantly surprised.
Booked tee time for 4 on GolfNow, but only 3 of us played. Clubhouse charged me for the fourth and gave me a rain check for 18 holes, which is fine, but I have booked a foursome on GolfNow at other courses in the past and not all 4 of us played and the clubhouse never made me
pay for the person who didn’t show. So I didn’t like that Pelican Bay.
The course though is MUCH improved from the last time I played it. Greens are coming back. They are green and roll nice. Fairways are nice and green too. Tee boxes have been overseeded and are coming back in as well. Very pleased with the improving course conditions. Will be back to use my rain check but don’t think it’s cool to charge someone for a player who didn’t show when booking online through GolfNow. Clubhouse should remedy that because it’s never been an issue anywhere else. Would recommend playing again. I will be back.
Lots of water
Most holes have h2o on both sides of fairways. Big hitters without control beware. Still recovering post hurricanes, but very playable.
Fairly good golf course
Fairways look good but very little roll and ball gets muddy. Green look good but very slow. The rough is puffy grass or hardpan. We play there because you can usually have a quick round of 3 hours or so
Tee block needed to be cut also greens needed to be cut and rolled
Like the layout.
Seeing nice improvements each time I come back to play. Good layout & excellent pace of play.
Grass on the fairways
I had not played this course in about 9 months because it had become a joke of a course. I was pleasantly surprised when I played yesterday. The fairways were green and cut. I did not lose 1 ball on the fairway as I did the last time. The greens were in good shape; looks like they got rid of the fungus. The rough is another story, dead grass, not cut and pretty scruffy looking. It seems the owners are making an attempt to bring the course back; hope they continue to work on the rough. The tee boxes for the most part were good. We had a 4:30 tee time and a sign said the pro shop closes at 4:30. We got there ant 4:31 and wanted to use the restrooms and the pro shop was locked; fortunately the associate came to the door and let us in. One other issue is that there is no drinking water on the course, they need to correct this. Even though there were minor issues I will be back as long as they continue to improve.
