Glen Abbey Golf Club
About
The 18-hole Glen Abbey Golf Club in Debary, FL is a semi-private golf course that opened in 1974. Designed by Dominic Palombo, Glen Abbey Golf Club measures 6661 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 137 and a 72.9 USGA rating. The course features 3 sets of tees for different skill levels. The greens are bermuda grass and the fairways are winter rye.
The Glen Abbey course winds through gently rolling landscapes of sylvan splendor and a 60-acre body of water known as “No-Name” Lake. There are no parallel fairways and all fairways are tree-lined. Water comes into play on eight holes. There are 80 strategically placed bunkers. Crepe myrtle, elderberry and oleander plantings are an aesthetic addition to existing magnolia, oak and towering pines which frame most fairways.

Great little neighborhood course
Glenn Abbey and the staff are great! The course was in rough shape early in the year but I’ve been golfing here weekly since April and in a month and a half they’ve really shaped the course up nicely. It truly gets better every week. The greens were kind of rough and the whole course was hard as a rock. They've worked on the greens that are coming along great and they’ve just core aerated to help with the hard ground and compaction problems. Can’t wait to get out after it’s rained a few times to see how much softer it’s gotten. For the price, the condition they’ve brought the course back too, as well as the friendly staff you can’t beat it!!
Had Fun
My Son and I had a grate time. They are working vary hard to get the course back in shape. Come and support them
While it is obvious that current management is working hard to bring this facility back, it has seen some neglect.. the layout was interesting and it had some challenging holes. I hope to return when it is again in too shape.
needs some work
Greens need work. They break every witch way. I say two putt greens. Need to let people know to let faster players thru. Otherwise an enjoyable course
On its way to recovery
Entire course is in very rough condition, but they are trying to get it back in shape.
The weather was great and the course is coming around. The recent rain seems to have helped a lot. The greens are better and the fairway grass is a little bit longer. I can't wait to see the improvement over the next couple of weeks. This was a very enjoyable round. I look forward to playing this course again soon.
Had a good time
The management were very helpful in dealing with inclement weather thanks.
More work has been done to clean up the course. Removing a lot of debris and dead branches from the rough/out of bounds. Greens are coming around. A couple more rain showers and it should really start looking invitingly good. Warm day with a bit of wind at times a little more than necessary. Not real busy and those playing were keeping up a good pace. Very enjoyable day.
Beautiful day just a little windy and way too hot for me. Improvements are being made on the course constantly. It's coming along nicely. Both Bill & Ryan are busting it trying to get it there. It is such a laid back atmosphere and everyone seems to be sooo friendly. It's just a great way to relax for a few hours. Try it - you'll be glad you did.
No backup from players ahead of us.. Weather was hot but there was a breeze so that helped. Course is looking better and better. Greens still need work and tee boxes are in need of help as well - mostly from the Sand Hill Cranes digging them up. They also need to be leveled.
All in all, a very enjoyable day at a very fair price.
Very Windy Round
It was very windy - 15-20 with higher gusts and a steady
mist/drizzle/light rain for about 4 holes. Really pretty miserable but by the time we got to the back nine the
mist/drizzle/rain had stopped - but the wind didn't. The greens were much slower which was a nice change. As always the staff was very friendly laughing and joking the whole time making a bad weather round a little more tolerable.
