Glen Abbey Golf Club

About
The 18-hole Glen Abbey Golf Club in Debary, FL is a semi-private golf course that opened in 1974. Designed by Dominic Palombo, Glen Abbey Golf Club measures 6661 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 137 and a 72.9 USGA rating. The course features 3 sets of tees for different skill levels. The greens are bermuda grass and the fairways are winter rye.
The Glen Abbey course winds through gently rolling landscapes of sylvan splendor and a 60-acre body of water known as “No-Name” Lake. There are no parallel fairways and all fairways are tree-lined. Water comes into play on eight holes. There are 80 strategically placed bunkers. Crepe myrtle, elderberry and oleander plantings are an aesthetic addition to existing magnolia, oak and towering pines which frame most fairways.

Nice course nice layout
Courses is a very nice layout. Considering the condition of the overall course tee to green, greens were in above average shape..
Given the fact that we are in the midst of a drought I will give them a pass on Fairways and tee boxes.
One thing that they need is a Ranger… I played behind a couple of big drinkers. They were taking Mulligans on it appeared every tee shot. They were not raking the traps. On one hole one of these guys took three shots to get out walked through the entire bunker went out on the high side and did not rake one footprint. Never looked for a rake.
Playin Glenn Abbey
Overall a great course and awesome staff.
The Tee Boxes are in really bad shape, needs work. fairways are good, but the greens are lacking good texture, very bumby.
For some reason, they don't have any readily availbe foods ie hot dogs and etc. Only chips, crackers and candy. Twice I asked for a hot dog and was told they would have to cook it. This causes for a slower play and to long of a break to start up again. Need to be able to just come in and get your food and get back to the course.
Really nice place with lots of potential to get better.
Poor conditions
Course has too many dog legs that force you to lay up in horrible fairway conditions. Also good luck hitting on a flat spot off the tee box.
Great Course to play!!
The course is located in a good location close to Interstate. Layout is not extremely difficult but does require some good shots on occasion. Good condition considering the past weather and it's just barely passed spring.
Good time to be had and fun with friends.
Meh
Can’t beat a20$ round, but good gravy the course is in horrible shape. Poa Ana on every green…fairways were rough and Sandy…yikes
Course could use some work!
Fairways need more grass Greens are not consistent and bumpy
Maintenance required
The course needs maintenance on the greens, sand traps, fairways and tee boxes
Not the worst I have played but below average
Only the price will bring me back
Not in good shape
Greens are better than the practice green, thank goodness. Fairways are really thin and at least one par 5 is now really a par 3. I only played front 9 because the course was in bad condition and the pace of play was very slow.
Better this time
We played this about 6 weeks ago and enjoyed it. But there were flaws. This time around, we thought the course was in better shape. Not great but good. Some fairways had some of the nicer grass we have played on in some time - the weather has been tough this winter on Florida courses. This course is on the cusp of being really nice. But it is fun regardless. And nicest staff of any course in Florida. EVERY ONE OF THEM.
Really bad mud areas on certain holes.Tee boxes REALLY need to be improved as well as some trap areas.
