Royce Brook Golf Club - East Golf Course

The east used to be a really nice trac. Now no fairways, literally they had machines removing the turf as we played thru, I think one bunker has sand, and every other one was full of weeds, leaves, I name it, greens were picked, guessing no one has fixed a ball mark in a while,, overall horrible

Last played a couple seasons ago. East course in terrible decline. Was really sad to see. This once was a beautiful members course open to the public. Members west course looked fine but east course was really in sad shape. Most bunkers have no sand. Some fairways are getting fixed but no work was being done that looked recent. Potholes everywhere on the paths.

Interesting layout. Front nine seems tougher than back nine. Other than no sand in most of bunkers, the course was in great shape.

Pay for what you get, $55. Cart path is unusable with huge pot holes. 3 fairways had been dug up with works being done. Sand bunkers do not have sand, weeds and mud.

Back 9 is better than that front 9 at least

Ok so front nine on the east, bunkers ? Full of dirt and weeds, fairway? None on 4 and 5 looks like they are mining the sod for the other course, latterly machines carving up fairway, greens? Think 2 maybe were decent, looks like ball marks have never been fixed more like Swiss cheese, back nine well maybe better greens but bunkers, dirt, weeds, etc, no sand, other than that it was relatively cheap and cart girl was cute

Played this course a couple of years ago and the course was in great shape. On our return, the course was laughable. The bunkers had rakes in them. They would have been better served to have had weed wackers in them. My fairways had large portions of the fairways where the grass has been removed.

Course is under construction. Sound traps have no sand and nothing but weeds. Course has places where the took up sod and left just dirt.

Over the years have played this course several times and always beautiful. Just about all the bunkers were in very poor conditions, overrun with dirt, weeds and water. The rest of the course was in ok condition. Very surprised.

Saw on their site that the bunkers were being redone on the East course, which is fine. It was worse than that. Tee boxes had baby trees growing (several inches high) and divots that likely dated to last year. Greens were overall good. Fairways fair. Turf being replaced in fairways, clearly marked. I was just disappointed that for $89 the course was in such shape. Cart paths were horrendous.

Golf experience felt like a $45 course at most.

From what I learned from the people I played with this is currently 18 holes private and 18 holes public. In the near future they are simply keeping 9 of the best holes for either side and the other 9 they are building condos or town homes on. As such they have ceased maintaining the public course. Bunkers over run with vegetation, entire yards the size of football fields missing from fair ways, and the cart path looks like Gaza after being carpet bombed. They have brass ones to be charging $69 with a cart to play here. Should be $20-$25 topps with current conditions. With so many nice courses in the area I don’t see why you would choose Roycebrook

The course was nice, the fairways were nice, greens were nice, but the paths and some other things were in need of repair! There we l was alot of work going on, so I think repairs are on progress. We didn't stay afterwards because there was a large outing that had just finished up as well and it was crazy busy.
