Great layout. Water the fairways.

Love the layout. Too many balls in the fairway on dirt. Some greens were patchy as well.

1st time back in many yrs

I really enjoy the layout of this course. Challenging, but not tricked up. Was in good shape. Few rough spots on the greens, but didn’t affect our play. Staff super friendly, water available on course, and cart lady came around often. We played on a “hot deal” which was a good value.

Big improvement in a couple of years.

The last time we played here was just before the COVID 19 pandemic when the course was in horrible conditions all over. It was a great surprise to see how the course has changed for good. Fairways were well taken care of, greens are fast and honest although there were some damaged spots and the bunkers made some good improvements. They still need real sand in the bunkers. Ponds and lakes need to be cleaned and some of them still stink. The carts seem to be newer and clean. Not much merchandise in the pro shop to help the business. Restaurant facility and the beverage cart are needed.

Anyway we enjoyed a great time and set our play record for 2:51 hours at this course.

The course is fun layout,

I didn't like that no yardage markers except on tee boxes. I saw nothing in fairways. Greens were surprisingly beat up. Fairways were decent.

Terrible greens

This place is a decent course in the Roseville area. The course upkeep has been steadily getting worse year by year. You can expect some challenging pin locations on some pretty ugly greens especially in the fringe to green transition area, really ugly on some holes. I wouldn’t play out of bunkers they are not really kept up with good sand and a bunch have tall weeds growing inside them. Overall round was on pace, course is a decent challenge and the food was good as well, card reader wasn’t working though.

Pace of play.

Morgan Creek had a tournament for members first thing Saturday morning. Which ended up pushing pace of play beyond recognition! It took three hours and 20 minutes to complete the front nine. Every hole you had to wait almost 20 minutes to tee off while other people were backed up also. I waited on the 10th T for over 20 minutes with three foursomes backed up (while people took four and five putts on the green to finish out the hole) , pick up after two and count a third stroke to increase pace of play. The course eventually, but reluctantly gave me a rain check for nine holes after. Sitting at the Teebox on 10 for over 20 minutes and at the time I received the rain check we were at three hours and 45 minutes. No excuses Marshall’s at the course were lazy and said there’s nothing that they could do to speed up play. If you’re going to have a big tournament first thing in the morning on a Saturday, have a shotgun start not one after the other after the other on the first hole and play so incredibly slow. The clubhouse was a wreck because the people from the tournament were inside and extremely rowdy loud and who else knows what they were doing? Not a good day for Morgan Creek! Plus just to note the greens were beat down because nobody could fix a ball mark on the green. I just don’t understand that about this golf course?

Fairways and greens

Fairways were nice the greens were not great. Some greens has areas completely missing grass and most greens had a lot of bumps, divots.

Over priced and neglect

Worst greens I have played in well over a year, by far the worst greens and around the greens conditions I have seen in a very long time. Does not make sense why this course isn’t taken care of, great location, inside a gated community, and in a town that has funds. Bar and food are great, staff was friendly, and food/beverage is decently priced. This course used to be a great place to play, not sure if the course is up for sale again or maybe new ownership just isn’t intrested in proper maintenance. We were paired with a someone who lives inside the course community and they expressed thier frustration with the greens, fairways, and fringe areas.
