Golfer Reviews
Worst course I ever played
Pace of play was so slow. It took us 3 hours to play the front nine. When we reached the 10th hole, three were 3 groups waiting to tee off. I quit my round and complained to the pro shop. They told me to play another course. The greens were bumpy and slow and the fairways are dried and had a lot of craters. Worst round I ever had. This is the last time I play this course. Avoid it like a plague.
We will play this couse again, it is well maintained, and the putting greens are in excellent shape.
Better than most
Morgan Creek is one of the better courses in the area. Good layout where they wisely built the homes with some buffer, rather than stacking back yards inches from the fairways. The course is challenging without being penalizing, the conditions are above average and the price isn’t bad.
Only two real complaints: 1) The bunkers are basically dirt and not much of it. Similarly, there are plenty of areas near greens where grass is non-existent and it’s just hard pan. Both of these scenarios will add strokes to your score unless you’re weird and practice delicate short game shots off hard pan. 2) We had a foursome of teenagers somehow jump in between us and the threesome ahead of us somewhere on the front nine and by 11th tee there were multiple groups stacked up headed for a 5.5 hour round. No marshal anywhere. Had to call pro shop to figure out where the kids came from and if they had a tee time.
CA Golf Trip 4/21
2 different nines. The front 9 more open, back nine more hilly and some difficult shots, more hazards. Fairways need to flesh out with more grass, greens were somewhat quick but in decent shape
repair your ball mark
had first tee in front of us, great to see younger ones playing, BUT learn to fix ball marks on the greens!!!
the greens were punched awhile ago but very bumpy and looks as if never rolled
I'm passing on Morgan Creek
I was told by the pro shop that they punched the greens 5 weeks ago. They did punch them but they have not healed. I doubt that the greens were rolled because they were very bumpy, fuzzy and just downright unplayable.
Also, we were behind a tournament that was taking FOREVER. Did not even finish the round because of darkness - almost 5 hours.
Fairways were in good condition, tee boxes not bad, bunkers were horrible, I don't think they have been raked in weeks (hard as rock or very muddy)
Needs alot of TLC
Front 9 greens were punched & still very bumpy & slow. Fairways were very patchy.
As always, greens were over watered & a little sloppy.
Great day
Perfect day at the course. Greens were a little bumpy
Challenging links latout
My suggestions are:
1. Install more directional signs for path to next tee box
2. Either change the model of the GOS monitor or improve the brightness for easier viewing
3. Install more driving range stations to accommodate the foursomes who are warming up prior to teeing off and those there just to practice
Poorly Maintained Course
Tee boxes had little to no grass, fairways were hard to discern, and putting greens were full of ball marks. Will never play this course again.
