Latest Update
Great Value. Great conditions, greens healed very quickly.
Greens punched but no notice!
I have played here many times. It bugs me when Golfnow does not have a warning online that the greens have recently been punched and sanded. That was the case today. Putting was an adventure. Also the fairways have a lot of dirt spots. I have played here when it has been in much better shape than it was today. I know it is February but still it can be a lot nicer.
Beautiful day, great course. Challenging but fair.
This course is not for beginners but it’s fair for the bogie golfers and above.

Greens were punched but one of my favorite Golf Courses in Roseville
Morgan Creek 2/22/20
I thought was course was very green and in good condition. Very rare to see dead spots in fairways. I only wish that I would’ve know that the greens were aerated this last week. Only rolled in two birdies but I most likely would’ve rolled a few more. Overall, good experience. If I was a local it sure would be a place I would visit often.
Beautiful Day!
I was happy to get out on the course. It was a beautiful day. The course was in pretty good shape and the weather couldn't have been better. The only sad thing was the course of play. It was way too slow. It was a bit frustrating. People were playing off blue and black tees and had absolutely no business doing so. Other than that, I had a great time and appreciated being outdoors in the fabulous weather.
Winter golf?
We’ve had pretty good weather for mid February and the course is coming along nicely for large winter golf. The fairways were firm. The greens rolled true with enough speed to make them enjoyable. Met up with a 90 year old gentlemen from Iowa on the back nine and he let me play through while he played a couple of balls and did a lot of ball mark repair on the greens. Booked the round late on Friday night and got a great rate and first time off. Set a good pace playing by myself in 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Improved conditions
The condition of the greens continue to get better. The fairways are still very wet. Overall the course playing conditions continue to improve. This is my favorite course in the area.
Morgan Creek
So I have played this course many times and a couple months ago their greens were in terrible shape, fairways were lacking in grass and bunkers hard as rocks.
The greens have come back and are in good shape. Slow and bumpy but no more dead spots all around. The rains have helped bring the fairways back. Haven’t been in the bunkers to see if they are still rock hard or not but most looked decent.
Morgan has come back.
Not sure what's going on with the IT system there
We arrived 10 minutes prior to our tee time and were informed that the IT system had been down for a few days and they weren't doing cards, but they did have an ATM machine. After waiting for a person to come to the desk for about 5 minutes, we were charged 26 each instead of the 25 indicated on the golfnow website. We were told to tee off behind the 2 groups who were teeing off on hole 1. I liked the course, and I enjoyed the beautiful day. I just couldn't understand what was going on in the club house and how they would handle any more people showing up and it not being chaotic. Eventually we reached a bottle neck at hole 8 and decided to just play the 9 instead of 18.
It's a Crick, not a Creek!
I love this place!
I play here at least 2 x a month. The friendly staff and patrons makes it a comfortable track to play. That's the easy part
The course is in one word..LONG. this allows for challenging shots for long hitters. Layups are the word if the day. Placement on greens is crucial for the multi angled and levels greens. First shot placement can be critical. The restricted width fairways chokepiints will get you if you don't respect the course. You can grips it and rip it, but will pay the price for errant shots. If you hit long though, don't be a wimp and play up. The only rub I have is when long hitters play up when they should hit from the tips. I've had a group of young guys (long hitters) playing behind me from the Senior tees and riding my group all day, only to hear how well they scored at the end. What a joke. Play from the tips. You're lying to yourself about your game if you don't.
Challenging Course
I really enjoy playing this course. It was a little wet because of the recent rains so there wasn't much roll out of the ball. The greens were smooth and rolled well. We teed off a little after 7:00 and the group in front of us let us play through and didn't look back. We played in a little over 3.5 hours. A couple of holes were closed to cart traffic and that was in the best interest of course conditions. Looking forward to playing again.
Morgan Greek offers a good challenge
I played Morgan Creek with 3 buddies between rainstorms and we were pleased with the condition of the fairways (no cart restrictions).
Soggy areas were clearly marked and easy to avoid. Morgan Creek has undulating fairways and greens which require better than average accuracy and distance control. Many fairway and greenside bunkers also make for good course management skills to score well. Bunkers were in good shape considering the recent rain. The greens were a bit beat up after the long hot summer, but suspect they will recover and be in good shape come spring. Pace of play was not an issue, as a foursome we finished in 4 hours and let one twosome pass that caught up to us on the back 9.
Staff is always friendly and clubhouse offers a good selection of beers for a post round review.
