Very nice place
There was a scramble qualifier tournament being played the day I was there and the place of play was conducive to a 5 hour round. Not fun. The course itself was in great shape. Greens were quick which was kind of deceiving since the remnants of aeration were still apparent. Nice course overall and the staff is quite helpful. Once their construction is complete I'm thinking it will be even nicer.
Very interesting course with complex holes and in good condition
Played for the first time here. Was an interesting course layout that offered a good challenge while not being overwhelming. There are some spots which could be improved for conditions, but paying GolfNow rates, it was wonderful.
Not Worth the Money Currently
I would be extremely upset if I paid full price to pay this course (booked a hot deal) because almost every single hole had terrible bare spots on both the fairways and greens. The greens were atrocious and consistently bounced even with good rolls because you would constantly put through divots and bare spots. I don’t get how they hiked up the green fees from a few years ago and now the course is in a worse condition
The course is back to quality playing conditions.
I played LBI over the summer and was looking a little beat up with the summer weather. Played again Monday and it's back to what I'm used to. Will be back.
They are losing their greens
The course is very nice but the greens were in terrible shape.
It’s time to recognize the staff at LBI National for being the best I’ve ever seen
It is clear that management makes a significant effort to hire and train their staff. The courtesy, friendliness and effort to serve their clientele is evident across the board. As an example, I remember when Eric who works the bag drop was first hired many months ago and you could see right from the beginning that was the right kind of person. Now, after becoming one of the regular cart guys when I play there he has grown to do all of the little things that make my golf experience more enjoyable. The cart bag loop is always through the slot and not covering one of my zippered pockets. There is always ice in the cart cooler. I mentioned one time that my grips needed to be cleaned and when I came back he had taken care of that too. Of course the clubs are always cleaned properly and he uses the brush his partner Kyle lobbied for to even be sure the iron grooves are clean. You don’t get that kind of service at most courses. There is no quick wipe of the irons without the head covers coming off the woods at LBI National with these guys.
September Round
played the course in early September. A few of the greens were very dried out. Otherwise the course was fine
Long Round
The coarse has been in mediocre shape since mid July. I have played here regularly this year and probably have 20+ rounds. Yesterday was the last round I will play here for the foreseeable future.
Greens are in fair to poor condition and the tees boxes are chewed up. THE BIGGEST DOWNFALL that could be managed has been the pace of play. I had to leave the coarse after 15 holes due to the backup of players… and the coarse personnel did nothing about keeping pace of play moving.
If you pay $130-190 per round, you should get a higher end semi private club experience.
Not worth the price any longer.
Disappointed but hopeful
Great Facility, strong course layout, excellent staff but course is ROUGH
Tons of potential but it looks like they had some sort of fungus and areas are dead, many greens have dead areas and are very slow.
Course conditions need to improve to get me back, but if they can improve I would be back fast. I'm hoping for continued improvement. On this nice layout
Of course it doesn't help that many guests are clueless about how to treat a nice course. Giant unfixed divots, ball marks on greens and nobody appears to know how to take a bunker. A real shame.
nice layout
Nice layout. Fun day. Course a little beat up from summer play and stress.
LBI NATIONAL
first time there in many years since name change
They seem to have issues with fungus on many greens
The course layout was very challenging and I would return in the future
Fun day
The course is pretty, personally, the price to play is not justified.
The greens definitely need work. The tees for the ladies also need improvement.
LBI National
The greens are stressed. Much worse than when I played there 4 weeks ago.
The fairways and rough are in good shape, except for some of the around the green areas.
I played the front 9 only.
do not play!
I agree completely with this review from 8/11/25: "Lots of bare spots on greens and around greens! Sand on the greens as well. Worst conditions I’ve ever seen at LBI." It was so bad vs. the price that I likely won't ever play this course again. It's bordering on fraud for them to charge what they're charging (over $100 in the AM) without a posting about the conditions of the greens. To take this kind of money from people with a smile and then turn them out to a course that a $30 municipal would be ashamed of made me feel like I was robbed. Do not play.
