Deltona Club
About
The Deltona Club holds the distinction of being ranked as one of the top 20 public golf courses in Florida. The club has roots that date back to the late 1950s. It is a remake of one of the state's earliest planned communities. Bobby Weed redesigned the golf course, improving its aesthetic appeal and giving it more playability. The course sprawls across rolling hills that provide dramatic elevation changes throughout. It is a far cry from the many flat public courses that exist throughout Florida. The natural contours of the terrain helped determine the strategic placement of the numerous bunkers, many of which were added during Weed's renovation. The Deltona Club's parkland layout has an interesting mix of holes with some that even have the feel of a links course.

Above average course …challenging
Pace of play a little slow but that’s ok . On vacation. Course a little rustic , a lot of sand all over . Greens were good , needs more grass in fairways but that a part of playing the course. If I lived in the area I would play it a lot . Very challenging . Played white tees right around 6000 too long for a 80 rear old . Senior tees 5200 is a little short for me
Nice improvements
When we arrived, there were people on the T box so we snuck out the back when we finished with the back there were people on the first teeth so we went out the back again two hours and 45 minutes.
Budget Friendly Course
Played the Front with my nephew and it was roughly $36 w/ cart for the both of us. Course is rough around the edges.
Shot makers dream
Course is a tough old bird! More sand than grass even in the middle of fairway. The staff is most definitely the shining star for this course. Love all the elevation changes and the fact that driver was not first choice on multiple holes. I’m hoping that this course gets better over time, it’s really a shame it is in such bad shape. I would love to play this course again when the grass is back.
Needs a little work
Fun course to play. I played from the Whites and it felt like It plays a little longer than on the card. If they get the fairways in order with less dirt around the greens they will have a gem to play. It was a pretty challenging course. I played on a Sunday and pace of play was perfect. 18 in 3:30. I would play here again.
Slow Play
Thank you to the foursome in front today holding every group back and forcing every group behind them to have a 4.5 hour round. Just wonderful considerate people.
Great course, great staff. Very affordable and really good greens
Golfing in Deltona
Deltona golf club is a nice setup, Staff is extremely friendly.
Rough shape
Course has the potential to be beautiful. Great layout and one of the few places I’ve played with a good mix of elevation changes and natural impediments.
The greens are inconsistent and in poor shape. The fairways are very unkempt and weeded/bare in several spots. The waste bunkers are growing in, not sure if this is by design to eliminate them or just poor management. The tee boxes were acceptable. I know weather conditions in Florida have been difficult over the last 1-2 months but to charge $40+ for a 2p tee time and play that level of condition is displeasing.
We were not permitted to bring in outside beverages, there was no cart staff on the course, and there was no water anywhere except at the turn. All of that would be mildly acceptable IF it was mentioned before playing and we could stock up as necessary. It’s Florida and it’s hot, there needs to be some kind of on-course refreshment or permission to bring out our own.
Only played 9 of our 18 and were denied a rain check. We were told they were only given out for emergencies. In my humble opinion, the course conditions at this time warrant an emergency. Will not be returning here for quite some time, and would suggest anyone going to play are prepared for a course that is a far cry from what it used to be, and could still be, if the resources and effort were applied.
Deltona -- Fun Hillside Layout
Most distinct trait of Deltona Golf Club -----no water hazards .....but we have elevation changes, undulating greens, long par5s, lots-o-sand, and many tee boxes to play your game. It's in good shape, especially for the cost, and just a fun play. Greens are not exceptionally fast, some sanded/repaired, but most courses in Central Florida have had tough few months. Thanx to GN for the Hot Deals Special, and I will be back to redeem those DbleBogies into pars.
Doing to great job improving the course
The transformation is noticeable. Greens are good. Greens are fast (about a 10 on the stint meter), Fairways need grass in some areas but we treat as ground under repair if we land in a bare spot. Keep up the great work!
I like it cause it’s never booked solid alway fat a tee time and I am aa beginner so it works for me I like it !
Great greens, fairways need help
Greens were in great condition. Fairways had no grass, none. Due to no water and the recent cold weather. Fairways need help!
The greens are in good shape and the fastest I’ve ever seen them.
The course needs some work on the fairways and tee boxes and definitely needs rain but always a fun time at Deltona.
A slow ride through the desert
You get what you pay for, and I was looking for a round of cheap golf. There is little to no grass on this course. I hit several "fairways," only to find my ball in dirt or vast swaths of sand. Greens were fast, but no grain. Front nine took 2:40, the course was packed...I tapped out on the ninth. Upside: this is a great layout that with some real effort could be a fun course. The course has great staff.
Poor conditions despite moderate price.
Course if below expectations but with much needed landscape focus has potential. Fairways hard with bare spots and weeds. Aeration and seeding definitely needed. Greens totally unpredictable and also weed infested.
Slow pace with no marshals to help with pace. Shocked clubhouse closed at 3pm on a Saturday with several players still on the course.
