Deltona Club
About
The Deltona Club holds the distinction of being ranked as one of the top 20 public golf courses in Florida. The club has roots that date back to the late 1950s. It is a remake of one of the state's earliest planned communities. Bobby Weed redesigned the golf course, improving its aesthetic appeal and giving it more playability. The course sprawls across rolling hills that provide dramatic elevation changes throughout. It is a far cry from the many flat public courses that exist throughout Florida. The natural contours of the terrain helped determine the strategic placement of the numerous bunkers, many of which were added during Weed's renovation. The Deltona Club's parkland layout has an interesting mix of holes with some that even have the feel of a links course.

Outing with my son
Course was in terrible shape. Fairways were bare or weed infested in many places. The greens were airated and cover with sand as. There was little Grass. This used to be one of my favorite courses, but I will not return.
What a shame.
What used to be a fun course is now a joke. How could you not warn a player that the greens were punched? I drove an hour to pay full price for the worst overall condition I have ever witnessed there.
Goat track
Even if the greens were not aerated it would still not be worth the money. Bad tee boxes, bad fairways and very bad greens - what is left? They did not tell us they were aerating when we booked and still charged full price. Lots of better golf courses around.
Why Should We Pay for 18 Holes and Have to Play the Same Nine Twice?
What a rip-off. The front nine was closed and we were forced to play the back nine twice.
If we wanted to play a nine-hole course, we would have booked elsewhere.
The nine holes we played were in deplorable condition. Never saw a blade of grass on any of the tee boxes and the greens had weeds growing in them.
WHAT A WASTE!
No grass on tees or fairways
Tee boxes are dirt
Fairways grass non existent
Greens bumpy and extremely slow
A lot of bunkers need work —— no rakes ???
Don’t waste your money
This is one of the worst conditioned courses in this area. No grass, greens in terrible shape. The owners don’t know what they are doing. Would not recommend playing here. Much nicer courses in the Daytona area. For the prices they charge it’s atrocious.
Course Needs Work
The condition of this course was worse than any course I have ever played in my life. This course should not be allowed to be on this website.
Rough course conditions
Really hard to justify going back out to Deltona. Hard to find consistency in fairway. Lots of very thin grass. More sand on fairways and greens than in the bunkers.
Fantastic holes brought down by poor conditions.
Great layout. Some amazing holes. Should be top 5 most fun 18 hole tracks in the greater Orlando area. Sadly it’s just not in good enough shape. Worth a visit to explore, worth visiting in the wet season if your local.
Dry drought conditions
Always like playing this course but drought/ hot weather has dried up the fairways and tee blocks. Surprisingly the greens seem to have held up
Lots of fairway bunkers but not a rake insight
Not good
The course is not in very good shape right now. The fairways are dried out, the greens are covered with sand and dry, the tee boxes have more sand on them than grass. They were really improving and doing a great job just a short time ago, but lately it's gone way down hill.
Course is ruined
We have played Deltona over the years but first time since Fall. Well, it appears they have not irrigated since then as fairways are dry as bone with grass gone and weeds having a hard time growing
Greens were impossible to determine as they were very slow due to weed versus grass surface in most cases. At this point I guess owners are setting up for closure as it’s too late to rescue service. A complete redo is probably not financially warranted. Seen this before with others courses right before they went under.
SAD as layout is challenging
Fairways and greens were in poor condition. No overseeding for the winter. There were no rakes for the bunkers. Worst I've seen the course in about 10 years.
Weather was great.
Very poor conditions!! We saw 2 sprinklers running but they were watering the waste area and only partial on the course. Extremely dry conditions and no rakes in bunkers, Green also very dry with limited grass.
Just absolutely Terrible !!
No grass, no raked bunkers, leaves all over from last fall, dry hard surface, greens are terrible. I would golf here again even for free. Stay clear of this track.
Golf now has to change this rating
Besides a friendly starter and good breakfast sandwich, this course was abysmal. The fairways were atrocious, the greens were just bad. How can golf now give it a 4 star rating. Every shot in the fairways was just hitting from sand base. If they cannot put some water on the course, then they should just close and not bilk golfers out of money.
Water the Course for Pete's Sake!
While the course is reminiscent of those found in the Australian Sand Belt (but hillier), the fairways were baked brown and it's almost like they used Roundup instead of water to irrigate the fairways.
Too bad, because from a design perspective, there were holes that took our breath away, but the lack of grass on tee boxes, fairways and rough were laughable - simply the worst conditions of any course I've played since Torrey Pines decided to kill their fairways in 2007 prior to resodding them for the 2008 US Open.
Turn on the sprinklers, buy some seed, and give this gem the love it deserves before it's too late.
