About
The Deltona Club holds the distinction of being ranked as one of the top 20 public golf courses in Florida. The club has roots that date back to the late 1950s. It is a remake of one of the state's earliest planned communities. Bobby Weed redesigned the golf course, improving its aesthetic appeal and giving it more playability. The course sprawls across rolling hills that provide dramatic elevation changes throughout. It is a far cry from the many flat public courses that exist throughout Florida. The natural contours of the terrain helped determine the strategic placement of the numerous bunkers, many of which were added during Weed's renovation. The Deltona Club's parkland layout has an interesting mix of holes with some that even have the feel of a links course.

Golfer Reviews
Could be great, but it’s not.
This course has an amazing layout, and would be super challenging and fun if they put in the effort with any green space. Tee boxes were a joke, fairways were long, second cut /rough was so long you lost your ball if it went there, and the greens were just neglected. The pace of play was great, staff was nice, but it just needs too much work to go again.
Enjoyable, had a good golf day
This course is in good condition; I was paired with two nice gentlemen and a boy who some day will be a pro.
I recommend this course.
Pretty good shape
The greens are pretty good and about medium speed but true. The fairways for the most part are pretty decent, some bare spots, but not bad. The rough could use some work. There’s a lot of fallen tree limbs and junk laying around that need to be cleaned up and the rough needs to be mowed so you can find your ball. This would also speed up play.
Overall good round
Round started off extremely pleasant. There was just 3 of us teeing off at 8:30. Got through 5 holes and then hit a brick wall. A group of 4 in front of us were extremely slow. Pulled up behind them on multiple occasions and they wouldn’t let us play through. Not a group in front of them either. Other than that the course conditions were overall pretty good. A couple burnt fairways, but that’s typical for summer golf. Greens were a bit furry, but rolled well. Overall a good round. Always a good course to keep in the rotation.
First Time Playing
Played single on a Sunday and had no problem with pace of play.
A few rough patches in the fairways on the back 9, but the greens throughout were in good shape. Fast and true with a few weeds.
No water, but a lot of bunkers. Very challenging for my skill level.
Great course for the price and I'd definitely play again.
No one there
We had the course to ourselves. Great fun, despite the heat.
Course in good shape generally. Greens very good.
Great layout and value
The course layout is terrific, it has deep bunkers, elevated greens, rolling fairways and a combination of short and long par 4’s. The greens are in good condition but we’re not fast. The fairways and tees are in good shape. The bunkers have been washed out by the rain also have some weeds. But at $50, it’s a good value for the layout and we played as a twosome in 3 hours.
Great Layout - Conditions not up to Par
I have been playing Deltona for many years. My favorite thing about this course is the layout. No hole looks like another hole. Love the hills and elevation and the greens. This time the greens were still decent but not what I have seen before. The fairways we're suffering a tad. Normally I give this course a 4.5 to 5. This time due to conditions of fairways I have to say 3.7-3.9. Still love the course and I am sure they will get it back to what I have been used to over the years. This time it was just not on par
Nice day
Green got to play with Sal it's a fun little course first time greens have been worked on and I had too many three putts but for the money it was nice.
Good course
The course is coming along well since the aeration and is really getting better. Always enjoy the course and the staff..
Going downhill..hope it improves
I have played this course many times over the years and it has always been one of my favorites. A friend told me it was getting a little ragged but we came out anyway.
Turns out he was being nice - the greens were ok but very slow. The biggest problem was the fairways and the areas around the greens. Some of the fairways were getting bare and/or weedy.
Around many of the greens were large patches of crabgrass that made it tough to putt from even a yard or two.
There was also a fair amount of grass growing in the sand traps.
I am worried we are in a death spiral - we see it alot around here as many courses have closed or are on the verge.
Oh also - no rain hoods on the golf carts. This is Florida guys!
On the plus side the staff is very nice and we did manage to play in under 4 hours, even with one of the more notorious slow guys in our group.
