We didn’t play at Mathern course because too wet so we play at Old course
Amazing value for money
The smaller of the 2 St. Pierre courses, but it’s really outrageous value for money.
Generally very forgiving (especially for us right-hand slicers).
The Mathern is a compact course, with a few streams cris-crossing it, very picturesque, and in excellent condition.
Still a challenge, but very accessible.
Would definitely recommend, and will be back.
Good course, very good value.
This course is adjacent to the championship course at St Pierre. It's a great venue and represents a good alternative to the main course, with some very good holes., some of which are particularly challenging, some more straightforward.
Mathern 4 Sep
Course lovely, some greens a bit patchy, signage between holes could be better. Staff really helpful, bar expensive, overall a great experience though.
Excellent day out
Although not the main course Mathern offered a good challenge for all. Confirm was good and we were lucky as the pace of play was perfect.
John
Great coarse but so very busy to many playing for us on a Friday but better mid week
This is a very well maintained course.
The course has plenty of variation and has some challenging holes. The course is very well maintained and the greens are excellent and fast.
Good little course a couple of really quite challenging holes.
Several interesting and challenging holes balanced by some more straightforward and shortish par 4s.
Would have scored it higher but the greens were painfully slow today
Great value for money and wonderful set up post match
Still 3 temporary greens
Still 3 temporary greens which really is a pain but understandable. Course is lovely with some holes that need to be planned. Greens are really good but different to the practice green! Great value for money though.

Marriott St Pierre Country Club - Mathern Course
Fantastic Value - Long Course - Challenging holes - Great Clubhouse
Nice course, shame about the management of who plays
It was the second time on the Mathern after playing the old course previous. We started off behind a 5-ball and when the 2-ball behind us asked the starter from the other course to tell them they needed to split up, he proceeded wrongly to tell the 5-ball it was us who had complained. Once they had split into a 2 & 3-ball, it was obvious they had no idea how to conduct themselves on a golf course; they rolled their trollies over the greens and held everyone up without a thought for calling us through. So, if you want to play the Mathern course, be aware that while the course is not bad at all, the chances are it will take you 5 hours as we a 2-ball did to get round because of the lack of course marshalling and the number of non-golfers allowed on the course. With no regard for the delay they caused behind with 2 more tee times stacked up behind us. Moreover, the odd bottle of beer left on the fairway as we did. In summary, it was disappointing, and a shame the professional shop did not brief visitors as to the etiquette and rules. It may have avoided such an issues for genuine golfers and visitors .
Great Course
Great Course and fantasic price of £15 for the mathern course
