Golf in Florida
The layout was fine. I was a little surprised by the condition of the grass on and along the fairway. There were spots that were not ideal for a top rated course. I played a course 15 miles away that was pristine. It was also slightly less expensive. I am just comparing the two. This course was not exceptional in my opinion.
Ok
Played in the early pm as a single. Good course the Ranger was not all that polite. Pace of play slow,but, I was paired with a slow group.
Sorry to hear about your less than stellar experience with us. Not sure why our starter was not his usual polite and friendly self. We will discuss with him and look for ways to better match up golfers. Please try us again and give us an opportunity to show you that we listen.

Course was excellent. Pace of play 4 hours on a crowded course was excellent. A great experience.

Disappointed
Nice layout, however, the overall condition of the course was poor. Fairways were very thin with many bare spots. Greens were just ok.
Was sorry to see of your disappointed with your experience at Boca Royale. We redid our greens this past summer and that has caused a huge surge in play hence wear and tear on our fairways. Leading us to double up on the quantity of rye seed for overseeding this coming fall. I would encourage you to return and see what impact that has on our fairways. BTW thank you for taking the time to review our course - we do hope that you will return and gauge our progress.
Nice layout and in great shape
Course is little short so played the Blacks. Nice layout and some challenging holes. Greens were in great shape.The staff from the parking lot, to Pro Shop, to restaurant were all excellent.
Will definitely play there again.

Disappointment
The course was great and so was staff but someone stole my new jacket from the cart when I went inside at turn.

Nice course, but not a great course
Arrived just before tee time and pro seemed not too pleased. No delays and the course was packed. Fairways and tees were pretty beaten up showing that course had alot of play. Greens did not hold well and were also pretty beat up. Layout was nice and the course was challenging particularly if you had not played it before. I am not sure it was worth the price we paid, but all of us had a nice time. No cart girl and no real snack shack to get a quick lunch. Very surprising in my mind.
Thank you for taking the time to write of your experience. I was somewhat surprised of your opinion of our greens. We replaced our greens this past summer with the latest and greatest Champion turf and have been receiving nothing but positive feedback about them. Come on back and lets discuss.
Poor course layout, bad head pro
The course is laid out very poorly, feels like they tried to squeeze in a 18 hole course on a 9 hole property. The head pro was very rude, and not helpful whatsoever. Overall was disappointed.

Narrow
On the front 9 you need no driver, lots of Trees and water , the back 9 are much wider and open, so its better to play, the stuff is very friendly!

Greens are really good except they don't hold a shot.

Looks like you might have experienced a poor pace of play - how many hours did your round take - we would like to know and if over 4 hours figure out why and rectify.
Golf course just sodded greens. The speed was good but over all condition not so much. Florida hasn't seen much rain
This winter so conditions were hard and and it seemed dormant .Has potential but needs TLC.
Was sorry to read your review as a discussion with you in person may have altered your view. This past summer we re-grassed our greens with the latest strain of Champion grass that has resulted in the most favorable feedback regarding our greens ever. They were fumigated, aerated and sprigged in a 12 week process with much TLC by our dedicated team. You are correct in your observation regarding rain without any significant precipitation in over 15 weeks. That and the extreme cart traffic that we endure has resulted in worn looking roughs, however our fairways and tees were overseeded with rye as we do each fall giving us fairly lush fairways. I do hope you will return and try us again - maybe after playing a few other local courses so as to be able to have a credible comparison.Thank you for taking the time to review us and please hurry back.
Liked the course
Very good.shape. The greens were like a carpet, but didn't hold that well. The back nine was slightly harder, but a great layout. Will definately play again.

greens and fairways in great condition - rough a little burned out as is most of south Florida - front nine tight - lots of water - three holes require approach over water - back more open - great 19th hole - will play again and recommend
Thank you very much for your positive feedback and support - our entire team appreciates it. As you may be aware, we have not had significant rainfall here in over 14 weeks and our roughs are suffering as a result. The good news is rain will eventually fall as it is Florida.
Beautiful challenging course super nice staff
I Live in Michigan, and every year when I come to Florida I want to play golf, but my hubby doesn't play, ( yes I am a gal golf ho...I will golf with anybody any place any time...hence my nick name among my friends Golfho). So I use my GolfNow app and since I am a single player, I have no trouble getting on. I have played Boca Royal at least 4 times now and every time the people I golf with are super nice. The course is in beautiful shape, in fact a player told me that most of the greens are new since last year. They are very fast and hard to check up the ball, but all very nice. So you learn to keep it low and roll it up. Boca Royal has memberships, I think it's a semi private golf community and everything is kept up very nicely. Obviously I'm not a member, but from the guy that puts your clubs on a cart, to the starter, to the guy in the pro shop, to guy who's waiting for the cart to be returned so he can clean them up are all super nice even if your not a member.. It seems to be my go to golf course when I am down in Englewood Florida.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. Just so you know redoing the greens this past summer has resulted in far greater play and in turn greater wear and tear on our fairways. What we learned from it is to increase the quantity of rye seed used during the annual overseeding process in the late fall. We are confident that will address the wear spots going forward. Do come back and see if that is the case.
