The course is a complete package
This course is beautiful from the first tee thru the 18th green. There is plenty of variety and it suits a bogey golfer perfectly.
Narrow fairways
Narrow fairways, and small greens with plenty of hazards make for a challenging course.
Good course, lots of water.
This course should be updated for slope and rating after the recent USPGA changes, other than that, I'll be back for certain.
behind on maintaining greens.
Over all the course could use more attention. The greens are small but the length is short.
Front nine - take enough balls with you
Over all, a course which can be recommended. Greens are slow but in good condition.
Nice layout and well maintained.
Nice place and close by. Nice layout and well maintained.
course in great shape
We were met at our car and bags were put on our cart. Checking in was very easy and staff friendly. Played as a twosome behind a foursome and played in about 3 and half hours. Course was in great shape. Greens were on the slow side but very playable. Recommend stopping in restaurant after round. Would recommend and we will be playing again.
Fun Course
The layout of this course on most holes is very interesting.
Some challenging tee shots. We breezed through in less than
3 1/2 hrs. The greens are very slow and bumpy. A lot of fairways
have ground under repair in places. The water fertilizer smell they
used was pretty bad. We still had fun and the staff were great.
Overall OK.
Postage Stamp Size Greens
This is an old style Florida private country club. You need to be very straight off the tee & many of the greens are incredibly small. Enjoyed playing it, the course was in fair condition considering this is the end of a busy golf season. The greens are not only very small but have a considerable amount of grain running thru them. I would probably play this course again if I got a great deal. Can't imagine being a member and having to face this numerous times each week.
Loved the course lay out, too small greens
I am a large green lover. These greens ranged from slightly smal to very small . Also the speeds were inconsistent , but it may have Ben the time of year. I did get a great rate, if the cost were always that low, I would play more often
Great layout, fast pace. Was a pleasure to play today!
We just played this course today and we have played it a lot in the past 6 years. About 5-6 years ago this place was a germ, superfast greens and in amazing shape. It went downhill for a couple of years and we wouldn’t play it anymore but it’s coming around now.
Greens are in good condition; roll nicely but not as fast anymore. Fairways are in good to very good condition for this time of the year. There are still some parts off the fairway that need grass. But overall it is enjoyable to play again. This course is short, has lots of doglegs, bunkers and water hazards and needs a lot of accurate tee shots. The layout is great and the stuff was very friendly (always is). We played as twosome at 1pm and we were done with only one hold up for 4 holes by a foursome within 3 hours. It’s a pleasure to play like this.
For those people who always complain about fairways and roughs being in terrible shape. First you have to understand that in the winter month from January to beginning of April everybody comes down here to Florida. All courses are overbooked and it’s really no fun to play (unless you like 4.75 to 5.5 hours of rounds of Golf). Once the nights hit around 70F again, the Bermuda grass comes out of his dormant stage and within 10 days our courses look good again. With that many people and that many carts running in winter on our fairways, it’s nearly impossible to have a course in great condition during the winter month, unless its private and money is no issue. Or you are willing to pay 90-150$ a round, then you should get a very nice course in great condition. We paid 18$ each today!
Great course, will for sure play it another 3-4 times this summer. Similar course is Myakka Pines with 27 holes, also a pleasure to play and currently in great condition!
Tight & short but a fun course
This course was very tight and not very long, even from the tips. There was no driving range to warm up on, only hitting mats/nets. Nice putting green and chipping green. The option to order food on the course for pick up at the turn apparently not running on a Sunday morning, but there was still a sign out there for it. The course overall was fun and look out for alligators on the water holes! We saw a 10ft gator hanging on the shore on one of them. Made for a pretty neat photo. I would play again for $40...
Good course for all levels
Senior, usually 90 - 95, like to play about 120 slope from the white tees. The course has some unusual/interesting holes especially on the front nine. Not too long but uses doglegs and hazards effectively to challenge players. Greens are well-kept and provide some tricky reads. Maintenance is good for this time of year and the dry conditions. Played as a twosome and once we played through a mixed foursome the pace was excellent.
Slow round. Course needs rangers.
Fairways bare. Greens in poor shape. Pace of play very slow.
Nice Course
Pretty nice course. Lots of doglegs and hazards, so longer hitters will be hitting fairway woods and even irons off of many tees. It has a pretty challenging layout, while still having some extra room for some errant shots. Many of the greens are very small compared to other local courses, and most are well guarded by bunkers and/or water. As long as you don't get stuck behind group after group of elderly lady golfers, your round will be enjoyable at Boca Royale.
I'm sorry but I cannot use the slider for some reason
On a scale of 1 -10 we would rate this a high 8 ---the fairways were very nice and the greens were super ... it took us 4 1/2 hrs for 18 holes.. not bad at all..the course is quite challenging also. I would like to compliment the staff -- very very nice -- also a real asset to your course..Thanks for a great time
Too many on course!!
Driving up to the clubhouse puts you in a grat frame of mind, then you see the numbers of bodys and buggies waiting on the first tee. We had booked 1137 and teed of at around 1205. Players on the course who could not in truth really hit a ball further than 100 yards in any direction. Pity about the play as course was very interesting and challenging, would play again if course was better marshalled.
Great
We really enjoyed this course. Friendly staff, incredible wildlife!
nice layout
Staff not friendly. Rained out after 7 holes. Unable to continue. No rain check.
Disappointing compared to past years
Most of the greens are in reasonable condition, but the fairways are in terrible shape.
This used to be a very well maintained course, and one of our favorites. We were told it is now owned by a housing developer. We were also told that the practice range, which has been relocated, is now for members only.
We are not likely to return until we hear that conditions have improved.
The clubhouse staff and starter were very friendly.
