Too many joe public
Very enjoyable round, of golfs
Yellow tee markers missing on the 5th old course, need more signpost for direction of tees.
Would recommend to friends but would make them very aware of far too many walkers on the course, even the tees
Neffyn
Wonderful coastal links course. You could be anywhere in the world and play the old course it is brilliant. Stop for a beer on the 16th at the ty coch inn, fantastic.
Awesome views
Fantastic course. Unbelievable views
Enjoyed every minute. Even thou was windy
Great layout with superb views
Everything was great except the group of 4 in front of us. Despite losing a hole to the group in front before the 5th, they never looked like letting our 2 ball through. All the Nefyn staff were excellent and they can't do much about poor etiquette.
Totally amazing
First time we have played here (played again the next day too). Played the old course - 1st 9
is wonderful . The second 9 is tighter with the added consideration of people walking quite close while you are playing. The old course is a must, with stunning views from every hole. We were lucky to play it on a benign day - the wind would make it even more tricky.
Second day we played the new course which was just as good.
Stunning
Club pro very friendly and helpful
Amazing scenery , greens and fairways in excellent condition , fantastic course
in love !!
Oh BOY ! what a great track... the peninsula holes are just stunning........ forget all you know about regular golf.... this is a whole new test of your skills... add stunning views.... and for my part playing with 30 lads from my home club and their mates... simply one of the finest days golf.
Breathtaking views...good golf
First of all, if you are coming here, you must play the "point" which is the Old Course. This is the nine holes that go out on a peninsula of extraordinary beauty. There is quirk abounds as there are many par 3s, and one par 5 on this nine. How they figured out the routing for this part of the course is a wonder. The front nine is also quite pretty and has views but not quite on the same level as the point.
This course is a unique/quirky special place. One of the better meetings of land and sea. If it was in the States, you would be paying triple. The golf itself is good. Plenty of par 3s which make it difficult to stay near par as they are well bunkered or will play in wind one way or the other. Nothing too special about the 5s and 4s, but nothing bad either. The conditioning is good/average. Good links golf in a very special setting.
The members are very nice and know they have a special place to call home. Pro shop was very accommodating and got me out before members so that I could enjoy a quick round. Food is good too.
If you are about the views, then this place will be 5 stars to you. If you are looking for a championship test with 7000 yards, then you might want to avoid here, but you'd miss out on the beauty. Regardless, go down to the Ty Coch inn which is below the Point for drinks and or food. Also, a lovely setting.
Just stunning
Having played Turnberry and thinking I couldn’t top that!! Nefyn is right up there!!! It’s absolutely majestic and a must for any golfer. The course was in awesome condition. The views amazing and even the public walking around the course wasn’t a problem, it was like playing in front of your very on galleries. Can’t wait to play here again.
Stunning course
This is one of the courses in the UK I’ve always wanted to play, The weather was excellent, the condition of the course was perfect, except the lack of decent sand in the bunkers. The pictures of the course do not do I it justice. The scenery of the 2nd to the 5th hole cannot be bettered. I did not play the the peninsula as there were too many holiday makers about. I do believe this is one of the golf courses you must play before you die. The sausage and egg rolls are also excellent, enjoy
Excellent first time playing here.
When you see the first few holes from the car park and clubhouse you know it's going to be a bit special playing at Nefyn gc.
Even with only 4 holes of the old nine open some of the holes more so on the front nine are spectacular with unbelievable views of the coastline.
With us just coming out of a very wet winter the course was in good condition, the tee blocks and greens weren't bad at all but i suspect they will improve even more in the coming few weeks.
All the staff we spoke to were very friendly.
We played as a four ball and all of us would highly recommend Nefyn golf club.
Just be wary of the general public walking though the course as there is a footpath that goes through down to the beach.
Stunning Back drop
Stunning course on the edge of the coast, wind made it a testing round but added to the drama. Will certainly be back to plat again

Great course, too many people
Great course, amazing setting, I was a little unsure of the number of people on the back 9 of the old course, at times I felt it was a little afraid of hitting shots in case I injured anyone.
You can see the Sea from everywhere...
We played 9 on the New and 9 on the Old. Both were terrific.
First, you can see the Irish Sea from every hole, including while standing on all 18 tee boxes. The views are breathtaking.
The New was probably the better layout of the two sides, but if you make it there you absolutely HAVE to play the Old. The locals don't much because it's a tough, tough walk, but the views are some of the best in the world. That side has a couple quirky, blind shots but they do nothing to take away from the whole experience.
The tee shot on the first and ninth holes of the Old will make you weak in the knees. With tons of people walking down the path adjacent to it (because it's the only way to get to the beach) you better not hit it left.
A great, great day there.
The Pebble Beach of Wales?
All I knew about Nefyn was that it promised views of the sea from every tee. Boy, did it ever.
On an absolutely perfect day for golf – 70 degrees, sun, light wind – we were blown away by the views on this course, which reminds me a lot of Pebble Beach (and one of my colleagues said it recalled Ireland’s Old Head).
The 27-hole facility isn’t overly challenging. We started on the front side, which was highlighted by the par-4 second and par-3 fifth, which offer dramatic views. But if you’re making the trip and playing the course for the first time, make sure you play the nine-hole “Old” course, which is much more quirky and fun. The first hole on that side requires a completely blind second shot over a dune, and the fourth hole is a long, sharp dogleg left.
Some of these holes definitely are weird. The fifth is a 140-yard par 3 that is positioned next to the National Coastwatch tower, and you have to hit your tee shot off a mat to a green that offered nowhere to miss – left and long was gorse, right was the car park. The par-5 eighth was also a bizarre design, as it basically took driver out of your hands and rewarded a tee shot that went 200 yards.
Only the brave should play this side. At the uphill, drivable ninth, cars and people are JUST off the left side of the fairway. It's a nervy tee shot, for sure, though I somehow rifled a cut over a middle-aged man’s head and had 15 feet for eagle.
If you’re in the area, this is a must-play -- if only for the spectacular views.
A Tough Test of Golf
Walking around this beautifully maintained golf course in the past has been a pleasure, especially on a warm summers day. Although it was warm and sunny, the wind was blowing a hoolie and made a tricky situation under calm conditions even harder. Into the wind drives could make 190 yards and with a following wind up to 300 Yards. Greens are rock hard and lightening fast, very very challenging but enjoyable challenging experience. Recommended to any golfer, however it favours straight hitters
New course
Absolutely stunning days golf the course is in beautiful condition the weather and the veiws were beautiful
