Good venue for a golfing day out

Enjoyed a lovely game of golf. Only negative was the amount of pitchmarks not repaired. Spent half my round repairing pitchmarks of other people lol. But lovely flat course with great facilities

18 temp greens with no frost

There was no frost at all on the course and on 18 temp greens in stupid places on the fairway. Ruined a round i was excited to play as it was my friends first time there. Should of been on the advert before booking. Not told on the day of the event that its temp greens just before ur leaving to go and play.

Late November Golf at the National

Thoroughly enjoyed this testing challenge!

Championship course!! Indeed it was and played like it to.

I knew it was long and played every inch of it's yardage. There's very little run and it can take 3 good blows to be close to the greens on the par 5's.

The greens were in amazing condition and there are some stunning holes to play. However unless you're a lowish handicapper I would have to recommend elsewhere at this time of year. The fairways for me were cut way too short. Everything looked like a tight lie but it played heavy. The first cut of rough is about 4" long and with the leaves on them and some fairways, makes it impossible to find balls, of any colour. Frustrating for me and my playing partner and added an extra hour to the round.

The driving range could do with and upgrade. Old mats, very few tees, balls that have seen better years.

It's a course to be played again that's for sure but not at this time of year if the fairways are going to be shaved to championship setting.

Disappointing

Having played before, we know the course well

However unable to get food at any halfway house having been told the wait for food before our round was an hour. When we returned to the clubhouse we were unable to get food unless we sat in the restaurant!?!

Not good enough for a resort of their stature!

Golf at the vale

It has been a really long wait to play golf and the vale did not disappoint , the staff are always friendly and helpful and mind about Covid to help everyone have a safe and pleasant round of golf . When playing the course was in amazing condition and the course Marshall comes around to make sure everything is ok , it was great again to get out on the course I’ve played so many times before and it was really enjoyable and a great round 5 *****

Golf fay

The course was extremely wet, balls plugging all over the course balls lost on fairway. The bar took twenty minutes to serve a bear after the game which is unacceptable. Not the best experience . I am sure it will be better in Summer but wouldn’t recommend to play during wet months.

Great winter condition

Course in great Nick for mid November. Unfortunately a bit slow in front but as expected in the post lockdown golf. Just about managed 18! Only downside was the Matt placement on some of the par 3’s. Great value for money. Would recommend a buggy

Long and Narrow - Very Challenging

Played the National on the first day of a two day break to The Vale.

Excellent facilities at the hotel with good food. It is also used as a training centre by Wales Rugby & Football. The football team were staying at the hotel ahead of their game v Bulgaria.

Hired a buggy as we knew it was long; good decision but you have to keep to buggy paths so often long walks from buggy to ball.

The course is very long , narrow and extremely challenging, to say the least! It had rained in the week before we played so the course was a little wet with very little run.

I found the greens very slow and not in the best condition.

There are some great holes; the second is a very long par five, downhill but with very narrow fairway between a thick avenue of trees, and there is water in front of the green just to make it a bit more interesting!

Pace of play was a little slow. We were a two ball and there was four ball two games ahead.

Tough course, but would like to play again!
