St. Mary's Golf Club - Championship Course

Played by myself, first time here so did not know course but will be bacķ.Well worth a visit. Easy access not far from M4.

What a shame! The course layout was good if not difficult to follow for new visitors. A couple of blind holes, which is not a problem, however there were no markers to provide guidance beyond the tee. The greens and bunkers were poor. Bunkers could have been raked which would have improved them quite easily. They were hard baked and poorly kept. The greens looked good, with plenty of challenges due to the thoughtful underlations, however they were spongey, with foot prints embedded! A one foot putt took a 90 degree turn!!!!! This course could be so much better.

First time to visit this course and I thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the shorter courses I've played but brilliantly set out. Will be visiting again in the near future

The reason for fairly negative review is mainly down to dreadful bunkers. Not looked after at all, the greens were fine but the bunkers were unkempt. The practice nets were in poor condition too and the putting green not much better. A bit of care and no doubt a great course, some cracking holes.
