Golf round
Course good considering recent rain, mixture of 2 ball and four ball led to some hold ups.
Otherwise a nice experience
Fantastic value / welcoming / superb greens
Played on a breezy but mostly sunny May day mid week.
Pro Paul is always very welcoming and cheerful which always gets the experience off to a good start. And he was there at the end to serves us up a cold beer as we watched from the raised outside bar area as players tackled the short but challenging 18th. 2nd shot is often into a stiff 2 club breeze (and needs to carry over a wide ditch). You need to be in a good position off tee to get a look at the green or face being blocked out by trees on right. Great finishing hole.
Overall a fantastic little course that always presents a strategic challenge. What it lacks in length/elevation is well balanced by the natural defences of wind and seemingly magnetic ponds and thoughtfully placed ditches!
Greens are consistently excellent - smooth, receptive and true.
I’ve played a lot of courses across UK over last 30 years and I keep returning to to this one.
Recommend!
Honest test, great greens, friendly pro.
Always welcoming and friendly clubhouse staff.
Course looks straightforward. And it is. IF you hit it straight consistently...
Great value.
Tee time too late
Booked this tee time due to cheaper green fees but unable to complete 18, may be that was the reason for reduced fees. Due to adverse weather, under foot was very soggy and like a bug but unavoidable.
Great course, good value for money
Course was in top condition. I liked that there was a good few par 5s. Speed of some of the players was very slow however - not the fault of the course - but they were normally good at letting you through.
Great course
It’s a great course to play if you like a little bit of a challenge
Good Afternoon
One of the few courses accepting visitors during the lockdown. Considering the amount of rain in the last few days course was in excellent condition. Good value for money.
Excellent condition & layout
Lucky with the weather. Booked simply via GolfNow. Friendly welcome. Excellent conditions and well signposted layout.
Fairways and greens in top condition. Bunkers with grey ‘sand’ was only negative.
