Oaks at Ft. Walton Beach Golf Club

There was no starter, I saw no ranger, there was no beverage cart and we played on a Tuesday, expecting the driving range to be open (not open). We teed off at 1:00 pm and finished 12 holes in 4 long hours.

Course is poorly maintained and condition is terrible from tee to green. I have played better courses in Micigan for $10 with cart.

Having to wait almost an hour after our tee time for a golf cart to become available shows a lack of investment in the clientele.

Worse greens I have ever pitted on

Very little grass on fairways

I play one of the Fort Walton Beach courses once or twice a month. The course is normally in fair condition, with nice fairways, but slow greens and many sloped or crowned tee grounds. The courses could be significantly better with a little investment.

This last round was really slow, though. Normally we finish in about four hours. But this round there was a fivesome two groups ahead of us. On 15 one of the golfers couldn't find his tee shot. Even though there was at least one open hole ahead of his group he took about 10 minutes looking for his ball before finally moving on. We saw marshalls on the course, but none of them appeared to ask the slow group to pick up their pace. We ended up taking 4 1/2+ hours, with lots of waits to hit.

The staff was rude, and before I even got my clubs on the cart I was hounded for breaking the rules when I wasn’t even told nor given instructions on where to go. Then they put me and my gf behind a threesome who was WALKING the course. Horrible staff no etiquette and will NOT be playing here again.

Busy place layout very good never know who will be playing in front didn’t see an on course staff

I enjoyed the course & I thought it had a nice layout.

Greens and tee boxes are rough. Slow pace of play for a late morning tee time. Fairways were just ok. The staff weee all very nice.
