Great Day for Golf
We had great weather good times with friends
The South course is in great shape except for one hole that the wild pigs tore up it is in the process of being repaired
Highly recommend the course
Nice and challenging courts.
My wife and I like this golf course because the layout and nice surroundings. Greens are challenging and fairways ok for the time off year.
Painfully slow pace of play
The starter told us we would be following a group of college students (multiple foursomes), but we would get off on time. Little did we know that these college students had no clue of "ready golf" and they proceeded down the course following painfully slow etiquette. When the ability is bogey or double bogey gold, this leads to extra long times per hole. It took over 5 1/2 hours to complete the round behind them. We waited on every hole both at the tee and waiting for them to clear the green. The facilities were very long of the tooth, built in the 50's and not updated.
The course continues to improve with most greens in good condition .Pace of play was excellent . Actually able to start a few minutes before booked start time .Staff very friendly and always wanting to help.
good value
starter is ok but not real friendly, course has a good layout&condition is ok, a couple greens in poor shape
resort seen better days
once a famous resort now is a shadow of it's former self.Facility is rundown.South course is ok but needs a lot of work.Tees were not cut(long grass)Fairways and greens were ok,but a lot of weeds around the edges of the fairways. For the price I paid it was ok,otherwise skip it.
Great course for the money
I absolutely loved this course. I will definitely be returning to play the east sometime soon. You can’t beat what you get for the money in comparison to other courses in the area. It’s definitely a bit run down but you can tell they have made a lot of strides to improve a 30 year old course that was neglected for over a decade. Some greens had really bad patches but nothing bad enough where I thought my game was effected. Pace of play was fine, I had to skip hole 10 to get around a foursome that was taking like 20 minutes a hole.
Fun.
We have been golfing here once a week for a couple of weeks. They have done a good job. Keep up the good work.
Fairways were good for time of year . Greens were not cut as short as might be but were all the same .
Will be in excellent condition by month end.
Fallen on hard times
Grenelefe South is one of my favorite course layouts, but suffers from its "in the middle of nowhere" location. Thin fairways and poor greens, but well worth the cost. Wife and I will play it again, but would not take guests there without full disclosure of the expected conditions.
Nice time
I enjoy this course for the price and would recommend it to anyone on a budget or not.
Good course for the $$$. Greens were fuzzy and slow. But new grass is coming in strong. I'll be back. Recommend others try this course.
Pleasant surprise
Greens were very good. A little slow but expect that this time of year. Pace of play was very good. You could tell this was an excellent course in its day. But they have keep the course up well. A must play. Great value for the price.
Potential Nice Course that time has passed by - Awful Condition
Cheap green fee on Golfnow but not really worth it. Fairways are OK and greens same. What is concerning about this course is that the putting green and 18th green are both perfect but in no way reflect the rest of the course. Club house is part of what appears to be a falling down condemned hotel. Obvious financial issues. Clubhouse seems to be interested in members leagues and nothing else. Will not be returning.
Was great !!
I love Grenelefe South, nice environment, friendly staff, nos hassle, spent a great day, will come back.
Thanks
