I used to play this course back in the 80's when it was pristine. It was an extremely long golf course with persimmon drivers and balata balls. It's still a fantastic layout even with modern equipment. Hit it straight! Lot's of OB.. Course conditions are rough. Greens have a mixture of long healthy grass along with the occasional bare spot. They rolled very, very slowly. I played as a single in the afternoon and made it around in under 3 hours. I love the layout. Classic Florida design with lakes and occasional forced carries. I'll go back next year when I'm down in FL again. I consider this place a hidden gem because of it's fantastic design.

Have played both courses in past, pleasantly surprised

of condition of south course. Well l designed course , fab S shaped Par 5 , with lake, fairways in good shape with lots of grass for time of year, most greens were suitable about 9 on stimp, some burn and worn spots on greens , not a big deal--overall a very good day, also fab lobby well decorated gorgeous furniture, relaxed there with a drink before heading out- be sure and receive good instructions - it is a maze to get there!

Played this course a few years ago and the decline is obvious to say the least. The course could be good if it was kept up. The greens need improvement to say the least. The tees boxes are not in very good shape and some were not even playable from due to the Sand Mine Cranes destroying them as well as other areas all over the golf course. The fairways if one could call them fairways were in rough shape. Some had more weedy grasses than the actual fairway type grass. The lack of maintenance is seen everywhere from the exterior of the clubhouse, and the bathrooms on the course. The course is a typical old Florida course the has gone neglected and is in need of some serious cash to bring it back to what it once may have been.

For being season and one of the better clubs in area I was a little disappointed with the operation. That being said its still an excellent golf course in fair condition.

The south course is the only one worth doing. The greens were quite good but fairways need rain and attention. They need underseeding and fertilization as you aren't hitting off much grass and there are weeds.

You can just tell that they aren't spending much money on mowing the areas that aren't played on such as around tee boxes etc. Leaves a feeling of unkempt.

Would do it again after a few good rains. Hope they spend a bit on the course.

Played these courses over 30 years ago, The facility has certainly depleted, the course is not what it used to be, but I have certainly played courses in worse condition. Overall we enjoyed our day and will certainly return for other rounds.

Great layout but a little tired in appearance ... Needs some TLC to bring it back.

This course has seen better days. The tee boxes and fairways need a lot of work. The greens are ok. The course should charge less and invest in what needs to be done to get this close to the condition it was in back in the day.

It is a good course, but not one that I would recommend as a must play on a golf get-away.

Greens excellent..fairways ok..lots of clover..play winter rules ..rest of course needs manicuring to be better than ok. Great layouts East and South. Wish owner would invest or find a buyer that will

The south course has been closed for 8 months. The greens ,tees sand traps and fairways are in great shape. It is a pleasure to see the course being brought back to its original condition. The east course is still in need of improvement. Several greens need attention . I hope west gate continues to manage the courses better.

The south course represents great value

Tee boxes were terrible and the fairways changed for the worst from a month ago. Greens were slow but playable.
