South at Grenelefe Golf & Tennis Resort

There is 2 courses here.They are in great condition,the south course is more challenging than the east,but either one is a must play when in the area.Staff is courteous &friendly.A great value for the dollar.Would recommed these courses to play.

Prices at a lot of courses really go up when the snow birds arrive, This is a good value

Pace of play was good even though we were a twosome playing behind foursomes. Very windy the day we played!

We played twice within 2 weeks/ both times we had to wait for over 1/2 hour past our tee time for a golf cart/ this particular day we were over 1/2 hour early arriving and waited over 1/2 hour past our tee time for a golf car/ we were ready to go and ask for a refund as it was past 2pm/ takes 4 1/2 hours to play Greenlefe South making it impossible to finish play/lucky we were able to finish with no time to spare.

Very well kept and nice grass, unlike most courses in Florida. Great design. Good challenge. Excellent value.

I was very impressed with the condition of the course.The greens were excellent shape.Overall we had GREAT time looking forward to going back.

A fabulous golfing experience. A must play. Played this course multiple times because it was so terrific and a great value.

After I booked the round I read some reviews and started thinking uh oh, I hope these are from the vocal minority that complains about everything.
Turns out, that for me at least, the course was beautiful. I was expecting the course conditions to be rough and the greens a mess, based on the reviews.
To be fair the course is a little older and doesn't have that crisp look a much higher end course would have. I could quickly tell though the course was, in its time, a beautiful track to play. Still though, it is a wonderful layout and very well designed. The conditions now were totally what I was hoping for. The greens were lush and hence a bit slower, but in great shape. The rest if the course was fine for sure.
Great value for the money

At time of this review, have played both the East, Palmer design. And the South, Andy Bean design. Bueatifuly laid out, well maintained, didn't feel like a course located between buildings. Mature and well kept up. Good deal for the $. Am gong to play each course one more time before this trip is over.

We were concerned about getting 18 holes in with a 1:37 tee time and not be able to start until some carts came available. However the starter suggested we switch from the south to east course (less water to deal with) and we finished in under 4 hours. The layout was generous/fair and the course was in good shape. A treat!!

Played the 'South' course years ago and was disappointed with condition. This time I was surprised to see how good it was. Enjoyed the round and will definitely return for another.

This was way overbooked. We had a 1:15 tee time and didn't get off until 1:38 as there were 4 other parties with the same tee time. We were on hole 11 at 4:45 and finally quit out of frustration at waiting to take every shot. We went into the club house and asked for a raincheck for 9 and were told it was not possible. Will not return here.

Course was very busy when we started, but cleared out..we started as a twosome, but joined up with another two half way thru the front 9..nice folks from Canada...bit breezy that day but fun..greens were a bit slow after the downpour but still in good shape.

Course is in great shape. Wide fairways and large greens made for an enjoyable day. Will certainly play it again.

hard to find,but worth it-pay attention to hole markers not well marked

I really liked this course and hope to play it again! I think the course made a wise choice to put their money into the course and not the facilities but the facilities are a sore eye when you first get there. Once you play the course you'll realize that it's worth your money!

The resort itself leaves a lot to be desired but my wife & I played the south course which was in very good condition..will play again for sure

The course was good shape. The pro shop personnel were friendly. The resort facilities were in need of repairs. Played an early round and was not able to get any food as he cafe opened an hour later
