Every hole is unique

We loved the course. All 18 holes were different and unique and fit into their natural setting perfectly. We played after re-seeding and it was cart path only and this is not a good course for cart path only. But we still enjoyed it immensely and will go back again.

space shuttle

Almost no one on the course. We played in just over 3 hours! I found the greens hard to read and pretty slow but the ball was landing softly and you needed to judge your carry well. Would have liked yardage stakes to help me pick the right clubs to carry across the fairly wide fairways [cartpath only today] Sandtraps needed some raking to soften them up. The par 5s were challenging and the par 3s pretty simple. from the gold tees. I was amazed at how many more homes had been built among the hole, but the views of the mountains are still spectacular. There is a supershort [270 yard] par 4 that would be more challenging with the addition of a greenside bunker at the front of the green, I think.Don't knowifit was me or the course design but I found myself using my 4 iron far more often than is normal. Surprised to not see a drinks cart on a Sunday afternoon!.

Disappointed

Played the course 2 days after it was opened post over seeding. I live in Saddlebrooke and play here often. I was disappointed that the fairways were not in better shape. Still areas in need of grass, fairways are not thick and lush as you would expect after being closed for 3 weeks and reseeded. Prior to ovrseeding the course was in pretty bad shape. I hoped for better. Played the Saddlebrooke 1 course on Saturday after it just opened after reseeding and its fairways were in excellent shape. Very lush and thick growth. I cannot understand what is going on with the Preserve greens keeping crew.

Impossibly crazy day

An extremely challenging course with the blind shots and hidden arroyos and the doglegs in which you don't know which way they bend. Aside from that the rough was so deep I lost 2 balls when I know where they went and still couldn't locate them. I did find one of the rough balls after searching for it seems like a long time. The greens were slow and bumpy but I had an awesome time playing. I must be a masochist.

Great potential but needs help

Great course layout with spectacular scenery. Good selection of tees for all skill levels. But the fairways and greens are in terrible condition. Lots of bare spots and the greens are VERY slow and rough. The course is in the process of changing owners and management which should get things back on track (hopefully soon!).

Need for speed

One of the best tracks and locations near Tucson with one caveat.

Greens are slooooow.

The rest of the course is very good nice fairways and all but the greens are so slooow.

Still, one of my favorite courses and the location is awesome.

TOO MANY UNKNOWNS

The scorecard did not show the course layout...so we did not know if the green was to the left or right. In addition, hidden washes and arroyos sucked up our golf balls. Great course but terrible scores.

Do Not Believe Five Star Reviews

Course has been sold and will be turned over to homeowners in January. We live here and can tell you the course is in terrible shape. Greens are SLOW with many bare and brown areas. Fairways lack good turf and are brown or muddy. Of all the Tucson courses we play right now - this course is one of the worst in terms of conditioning. Not sure if all the damage is caused by insects, fungus or lack of water ... but in the last six years we have played it has NEVER been this bad. Good luck new owners!!

Greens are so slow you might as well have a square ball.

The greens keep getting slower each time I play there. It has now reached the point of no longer enjoying this great course. I am done with them until the greens get some speed. You shouldn't need a back swing with your putter.

Extremely Disappointd

Drove 35 minutes to play this course. There were no notations about condition of course. The cups have not been changed in a while they were ragged and caved in the greens were like putting on fly paper and were in poor shape and no grass to be found on fairways. Pace of play was good because no one else was playing. I thought this was a premium course but worse than any course I have played this year. I feel I should receive a refund it was not enjoyable.

Very disappointed in the condition of the course

This course has been managed by the original developer, Robson Properties. Their main business is selling and building the real estate around the course. The Saddlebrooke #2 HOA is purchasing the course along with Mountain View Course. This can't happen soon enough, as Robson has really let this course go the down hill. Too bad. Played it three years ago and it was awesome.
