Moose Ridge Golf Course

About
Moose Ridge Golf Club sprawls across rolling hills blanketed with mature trees and accented with colorful wildflowers. There are more than 90 feet of elevation changes throughout the course, but there are more challenges than the hilly terrain. Well defined bunkers lurk along the greens and acres of wetlands come into play. It's easy to get distracted on this visually stunning golf course, but it's a test that requires all of your attention. The first hole is challenging but gentler than the next three holes, which is one of the toughest sequences in the area. The second and thrid are long uphill par 4s and the fourth is a narrow par 5 with a marsh-protected green. Moose Ridge Golf Club's back nine opens more gently but the respite doesn't last for long. The 15th is one of the most challenging holes, starting with a tee shot over water and followed by an approach to a narrow green.

Beautiful course and immaculate conditions
One of favorite courses I've played in the Midwest. Absolutely worth a drive. Beautiful course with excellent conditions. Greens, fairways, everything in excellent condition
Recommendation to golfers: bring bug spray
To course: wish greens were slightly faster. May be because it has been wet but they were little slower than hoped.
Thoroughly enjoyed
I played this course for the first time and really enjoyed it. The greens were running fast and slow. Some of the greens were deceiving and didn't break when it clearly showed a break in the putting line so, enjoy figuring this out. As others have mentioned, you get the feeling of playing an "up north" course here. As mentioned by a few. The time of play can be longer. Too many area's roped off and results in lots of walking time if your ball lands opposite of the roping. If your more than a 10 handicap, the course will add more play time for you too. I plan to play here again and real soon.
GREAT COURSE!!!!
This is a 1st class course with topography that is unique to this part of Michigan. Course feels like it up in Gaylord with a great layout. Since some holes are roped off (no carts) the walk to your ball can be a bit of a hike(tip....keep your ball on these holes to an area closer to the cart path...lol...good luck)...course offers all abilities a challenge...try it..you'll like it
Best course in the area
Great course, greens were perfect and played in 4 hours teeing off at 7:30.
Up north golf in southeast Michigan
Great course. Beautifully manicured. Elevation changes. Occasional tight trees. My favorite course so far in the Detroit-Ann Arbor area.
Great Course
This course is a bit of a hike from Detroit but it was worth it. We played 18 for $43. The layout is beautiful and challenging. Very scenic and wooded. There are a lot of elevation changes. The course was in great shape. This course is definitely difficult but, the rough wasn't extremely thick or long and luckily the greens weren't as fast as they could be.
Like being up north..
Beautiful golf course, friendly people ,friendly staff.Rate of play was smooth ,no delays 18 holes in 4hrs 20mins. Only down side is no carts on fairways. So play your drives wisely. Highly recommend. .A must play in lower Michigan. .
Moose Ridge
While this is not especially long from the white tees, it's all about the second shot here. You get a real "up-north" feel with all the elevation changes and the trees surrounding the course. I struggle to hit a 200 yard drive but most of the holes are short enough that I was able to use a mid iron to get to the green (if only I was that accurate). Greens are in great shape and putts roll true.
Great Course
A great course. Challenging and playable all at the same time. Can Play a little slow at times because there are multiple holes that carts are not allowed to drive on, but it makes for better course conditions. One of my favorite courses in the area.
Good Place! Well speed
It was nice area, green speed is good.
Fairway and rough is well organized.
Especially the condition of green is wonderful.
Nice.
Great course in very good early season condition
Great course
Terrific job with early season condition!
Up north atmosphere
Extremly nice course, views are very nice, up north feeling. club house very rustic feeling.
Beautiful course for a crisp fall day
The rolling hills on this course make it a beautiful scene. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in great shape for late in the year.
Tough Course
There were some courses of wide open, mostly narrow though the distance (from White Tee) was not so long.
If played from the blue tee, it must have been very tough.
Wonderful Golf Course
This course not meant for beginner. You will need your A game
Great course
Great course, staff, everything about this place is a gem! Place got a little backed up after 11 holes. Saw one ranger and he was in his phone the whole time. Besides that still would play again
Challenging
This course continues to be challenging. Shots have to be properly placed to have a chance to shoot at pins.
Scenic challenging course!
Challenging course layout with plenty of up and down. Some very long par 5's. Course is in great shape. An absolute pleasure to play. Didn't wait on any hole. Putting it in my top 10 list!
Tough Track
This was a fun course to play. Very challenging. There is a lot of trouble and if you are not hitting it straight off the tee, then you will find the trouble on almost every hole. Very cool setting. My only complaint was the greens. First, there were a ton of ball marks that had not been fixed. Why people don't fix their own I will never understand. Kind of surprising for a nice course like Moose Ridge. Second, the speed of the greens seemed to vary by hole. My playing partner said the exact same thing. Other than that, it was a fun but challenging round. I would play it again, especially if you can get a golfnow hot deal.
