Moose Ridge Golf Course

About
Moose Ridge Golf Club sprawls across rolling hills blanketed with mature trees and accented with colorful wildflowers. There are more than 90 feet of elevation changes throughout the course, but there are more challenges than the hilly terrain. Well defined bunkers lurk along the greens and acres of wetlands come into play. It's easy to get distracted on this visually stunning golf course, but it's a test that requires all of your attention. The first hole is challenging but gentler than the next three holes, which is one of the toughest sequences in the area. The second and thrid are long uphill par 4s and the fourth is a narrow par 5 with a marsh-protected green. Moose Ridge Golf Club's back nine opens more gently but the respite doesn't last for long. The 15th is one of the most challenging holes, starting with a tee shot over water and followed by an approach to a narrow green.

Slice of Northern Michigan just north of Ann Arbor
I would highly recommend Moose Ridge to anyone who enjoys a well maintained challenging golf course. Most holes are tree lined. There are several longer carries off the tee. There is quite a bit of up and down throughout the course. If you are not a longer hitter make sure you play the correct tees or you will be in for a long day. Also, if you tend to spray the ball off the tee you will definitely want to have extra ammo. Higher handicap golfers may struggle here. I look forward to playing Moose Ridge again.
Beautiful course
This track was absolutely beautiful and also very challenging. the fairways and greens were in great shape
Would recommend to everyone!!
Rained Out :(
Great value for $25.00 to play this course. Wish the weather cooperated. One of the better kept courses around. Didn't get to finish course due heavy down poor. Teed -Up early in the AM to beat rain but so did everyone. Play was slow then the rain caught up to everyone.
Really nice layout
Tough course for me. Some greens had some problems with thin bumpy spots.
Great track
This course is always in good condition, and plenty challenging from all tees.....
Great place
Hard course but is beautiful and fun best greens I have played this year
Great course
Excellent course. In great shape. Friendly staff and there was no problem getting around. Lots of placement shots, and the tip book/scorecard was very helpful. I will be playing this course again.
excellent course
Just like an up north course very hilly. Rough channeling greens good condition and very fair for the average golfer definitely deserves a return vist.
Great up-north feel!
Beautiful course, with a friendly staff. Moose Ridge definitely has a northern MI feel to it. With rolling fairways and challenging, yet fair greens, this picturesque track will be added to yearly rotation.
One of the best in SE Michigan.
Shhh, keep it a secret
I feel guilty for only paying $24 (golfnow). Love this track. One of the best in the area. I do not like to play the same course over and over, but Moose Ridge is one of my few exceptions. Fun, challenging layout. Multiple tee option provide a challenge for any golfer. Sort of a cliché but, you really get that "up north feeling" here. No houses around the course. Just simply, a great place to play golf.
Nice course
Course staff, facilities and course was great. Unfortunate that we could only finish 6 holes due to a family emergency but it was nice
Love Moose Ridge but we call it Moose Knuckle :)
This was my best round of golf in years, Ended +1 But got an 6 on the last par 3. It was challenging because of pin placement. And I still loved the course. We had the red snapper and it was out of this world. Oh yeah and loved that it was so secluded wildlife was second to none. Greens were fast and hard to read but that made it fun. Absolutely no wait to play, spaced out perfectly.
Course was great! Staff was excellent!
Love this course! Pace of play was good. Staff was on point with scheduling. Definitely coming back!
Great Layout, greens were awful
Having heard great things about this course I decided to drive over an hour to play Moose Ridge for the first time. The course layout itself was great and very difficult unless you hit the ball in the fairway. The day I played the greens had been Aerated the previous day and were in awful shape. There were very large punch marks and when they topdressed them the sand was not spread evenly causing some portions of the greens to play much slower then others. I will be playing the course again in the future and hopefully the greens are much better.
The course is very scenic and a geat "up North" course for Southeast MI.
The course was in great shape, especially given the time of the year with the leaves changing colors. The only issue was the greens had recently been aerated so the putting was quite challenging.
Tough course
The course's reputation as one of the best in SE Michigan speaks for itself and I think it's deserved, but people who have never played here before should be prepared for a couple of things.
It's a tough course. Almost every hole has a daunting challenge: large, undulating greens; elevated greens; narrow fairways; hazards that are very much in play; forced carries; sometimes more than one of these on each hole. The last two times I've been there, I've been paired with people who were shocked by the difficulty of the course. It's the hardest public course I've played in SE Michigan.
Be prepared to walk a lot. Including the par threes, 10 of the holes don't allow you to leave the cart path. In some cases it seems excessive and it definitely slows pace of play.
Good course, poor service
Guy behind the counter was snippy... greens aerated and they did not tell us that when booking... cart path only on too many holes was cumbersome... guys cleaned our clubs without asking and wanted a tip
Beautiful course and challenging too!
Loved this course. Worth the drive from Maumee, Ohio. Greens were just aeriated, so they were a little bumpy. Maybe they should just do 1/2 of the green at a time, like they do up north.
Personal Top 5....anywhere!
In what has become an annual visit over the last few years, we played Moose Ridge again TWICE this year, we love the course that much! Great value, FANTASTIC course.
