Brookside Golf Club - C.W. Koiner Course

I had a 640 am tee time on a Friday morning, a normal round at that time would take 3.5 hrs, 4 max. But Brookside decided to put out a morning group of tee times starting from hole #7, so we flew threw the first 6 holes and then took 3.5 hours playing the last 12 holes behind very slow groups. Terrible way to try and increase revenue

I asked for a cup of hot water at the restaurant the server said its $2 for any empty cup. There was no cup to give for free. I was disappointed.

Great course, grass a little rough in fairways due to parking but overall well kept!

Golf was on time we we're paired with two singles, our teetime was 840 am and were sent to tee off on time. Pace of play A Little slow, but we got done. Enjoyed the course ,A Little challenging and fun.

I started my teetime a Little late , he GPS said I was 1 minute behind pace of play. Got on 2 nd hole it got slower by 5mins., 3rd hole got to 11 mins. , by the 4 th hole my playing partner decided the to just skip playing behind the group's ahead of us , the pace was soon slow I decided to just stop playing at the 12th hole .I got a Little practice from the few teeoffs, didn't help me because of slow pace of play.

Apparently on saturdays they use the course to park cars for the rose bowl. There were bags of trash everywhere all over the entire course! Yuck! Should have had discounted rate to play in a huge dump.

This course was filled with trash bags and porter potties. Apparently, it’s used for tailgating and parking when there are games at the Rose Bowl. Holes 13 + 14 didn’t have bags on it. Another hole is on the other side of driving range - lots of balls on the green in that area. Would not recommend or go back.

I used play a lot here but the condition getting worse each time. probably because the course is used as parking lot during Rose Bowl events.

The gree fee are way too high for condition.

Sad to see such a great course in the condition it is.

Of course we play after a game weekend. Its a bummer to see a quality course get wrecked because of parking. Like American Golf care more about parking than they do about the course.

The driving range is a field, no targets, just a field. I'm sure AG doesn't care about the golfers as targets are too much to ask to have at a driving range. The course had maintenance guys all over, cutting aprons while we were hitting our approach shots, like zero cares that we were playing. Make shift fire pits by the trees, jacked up fairways from parking.

There was time this course was premier, but as usual, greed and zero contribution to the sport, American Golfs way.

The fairways on Course 2 were quite bad. Many bare spots, lots of thin weeds in other areas. Good lies were rare. And the gps enabled carts were a hassle. The course is crossed by dirt temporary roads used to park cars during UCLA football games and the cart refused to drive on some of those on holes that were “cart path only”. Total needless pain in the butt. Plus the course is more expensive than other nearby courses. I won’t be back till after football season.
