Located less than an hour from Tampa and Orlando, LakeSide Golf & Country Club in Inverness has a unique and scenic setting with four holes that play around an abandoned phosphate mine. The challenging layout will test you with long par 5s and a slew of doglegs. Unlike some of the flatter, marshier golf courses you'll find throughout Florida, this layout has rolling, wide open fairways and large, undulating greens. Be prepared for more than 50 strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greens in addition to well placed smatterings of tall oaks and pines. The rough can also be very punishing if you're errant. There are some challenging holes but it's not overly daunting; beginners and casual golfers will still enjoy the golf course. There is also a driving range available at LakeSide Golf & Country Club.

Most reviews are much better than reality at LakeSide
After reading 5-star reviews and comments like hidden gem I planned to stop by and try it out on my way back home from South Florida Golf. It was disappointing from the first hole onwards. A beginner foursome didn’t let me play through, so pace of play was bad. Course layout with lots of old oak trees is quite nice, but tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens are more than rough. Sorry to say, but I wouldn’t come back.
Hidden Gem
I am fairly new to playing golf, but I live in Central Florida and facilities are everywhere. I have been to a number of different courses in Central Florida, and this course has been of the best conditions and for a better price. I have played here 4 times in the past month and intend to play 2 rounds here this weekend. The best part is this is only 10 minutes from my house. LOVE IT!! VERY SATISFIED RE-ACCURING CUSTOMER!!

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Very reasonable rates and good course layout.
Getting Better All the time
Lakeside is obviously putting a lot of effort into the conditioning of their course, and it's definitely starting to show.
Some very tough holes!
Pace of play was very slow on the front 9. Some very challenging holes. Some of the greens need some work. The fairways were nice. Tee-Bowes need some TLC. Overall okay for the cost.

Pleasant Course
Course is improving since last played. Course staff has been working hard to get it back in shape from the torrential summer 2021 rains and it shows. Keep up the good work.
