Located less than an hour from Tampa and Orlando, LakeSide Golf & Country Club in Inverness has a unique and scenic setting with four holes that play around an abandoned phosphate mine. The challenging layout will test you with long par 5s and a slew of doglegs. Unlike some of the flatter, marshier golf courses you'll find throughout Florida, this layout has rolling, wide open fairways and large, undulating greens. Be prepared for more than 50 strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greens in addition to well placed smatterings of tall oaks and pines. The rough can also be very punishing if you're errant. There are some challenging holes but it's not overly daunting; beginners and casual golfers will still enjoy the golf course. There is also a driving range available at LakeSide Golf & Country Club.

Greens are generally in good shape.

This is one beautiful layout. Very challenging hole #4 is my personal favorite. The fairways and Tee's need more tinder care. The times we're in could test any business.
I most certainly will continue to be a Lakeside supporter.
Wow the horses in terrible condition
Been here numerous times over the year by far the worst shape as the gentleman in the pro shop he said they’re killing all the weeds getting ready for the winter time guess don’t come back until winter
It's Fun
Yes the course is kind of rough but still fun and somewhat challenging. It's a links course that has seen better days and needs lots of money to put it back in pristene condition. The staff are super friendly and went out of their way to help me find the place. Signage is not great !!!!!!! If you need a good practice course come out and play. My wife and I are moving up to the Crystal River area and I want to play all the courses that are somewhat close.
Dutch toilet
This course is for the people who share golf clubs, analyze putts for a 12 and played 4 times in their life. This was based on the reviews I read.
What I experienced, I might have been in the wrong state?!?!
This place is a fricken dump PERIOD!
Greens suck, tee boxes are crap and the fairways have stalks of weeds I've never seen before.
Great course if you are still trying to learn the difference between golf and croquet.
Great course to work out that new swing!
My first time here. I arrived early and was allowed to get on immediately. Fairways were a bit choppy for the cart. I am pretty easily satisfied, but my friends might not be happy with the conditions of the course. I found it challenging, and was delighted with the deal.
Condition
Greens better since irrigation. Tee boxes in bad shape
Long Wait
Arrived at 10:30 am for an 11:33 tee time. I had some clubs to give my golf partner so once that was done we asked if we could tee off as the 1st tee was wide open.
We were told that a group of 8 players were ahead of us. The tee remained open fo 22 minutes before they showed up. We had to sit around and do nothing, that's just nuts. We may or may not play here again. As for the course the tees were rough, the fairways had grass and crabgrass and the greens weren't that bad. They putted fairlywell. It's early enough in the summer that all this can be taken care of.

For the price it was okay and they let us go earlier than our tee time which was great!
Summer Golf-Florida
Courses in Florida that were over seeded for condition seem to always have problems when the weather starts getting HOT! THAT is what it looks like happen at LakeSide. Starting to show (wear).
Surprise Golfing
Nice surprise playing Lakeside CC fairways had plently of grass -greens were fairly fast @ about 9.5 some greens had some spots probably overseed burning out.
Some green's and tee boxes were a little rough,but overall the course was in pretty good shape.
