Located less than an hour from Tampa and Orlando, LakeSide Golf & Country Club in Inverness has a unique and scenic setting with four holes that play around an abandoned phosphate mine. The challenging layout will test you with long par 5s and a slew of doglegs. Unlike some of the flatter, marshier golf courses you'll find throughout Florida, this layout has rolling, wide open fairways and large, undulating greens. Be prepared for more than 50 strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greens in addition to well placed smatterings of tall oaks and pines. The rough can also be very punishing if you're errant. There are some challenging holes but it's not overly daunting; beginners and casual golfers will still enjoy the golf course. There is also a driving range available at LakeSide Golf & Country Club.

Fairways looking better, water receiding, tee boxes still need work
Standing water in fairways
This course has ponds where there are not supposed to be ponds but my biggest beef is that I told them I had been sick all week and preferred to ride alone and was told no!! They say you have to pair up in a cart even though I pay for 18 holes and a cart every time or pay an extra $10 for a cart, what is that crap??
Rough
Greens and tee boxes poor and fairways with very thin grass. Poor signage to next tee.
Terrible Experience
Showed up for our 10:58 tee time on Thanksgiving Day and were told they were closed. Other golfers were on the course. Said if we played at all had to be in by 1:00. Said THEY didnt sell me tee time Golfnow did. It was the first time I ever saw the course listed in GN. Hope its the last.
Good value
Very nice staff. Nice discount on clothing in pro shop. The tee boxes need a lot of work, but the fairways were in good shape and the greens were good. Cart paths are not very good. Nice course for the price though.

Greens were very nice
Decent layout, Fairways were decent as well. There is a lot of water in the retention ponds that altered two holes and forced a longer carry on a third. That being taken into account the course is fun and I will be back.
Fun course
Somehow more water every time I play. Many tee boxes in rough shape. A couple of greens in poor condition but the course has some really fun holes and fiscally it’s a great deal!
