Located less than an hour from Tampa and Orlando, LakeSide Golf & Country Club in Inverness has a unique and scenic setting with four holes that play around an abandoned phosphate mine. The challenging layout will test you with long par 5s and a slew of doglegs. Unlike some of the flatter, marshier golf courses you'll find throughout Florida, this layout has rolling, wide open fairways and large, undulating greens. Be prepared for more than 50 strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greens in addition to well placed smatterings of tall oaks and pines. The rough can also be very punishing if you're errant. There are some challenging holes but it's not overly daunting; beginners and casual golfers will still enjoy the golf course. There is also a driving range available at LakeSide Golf & Country Club.

Pleasant Surprise
Course in better shape than most this time of year in Florida. Some great golf hole designs. Greens running smoothly. Certainly worth more than the $ 11.85 I paid to play.
Not bad
For the money, it was fine. Good layout, with some TLC could be nice. Buildings,etc don't seem like they'd pass inspection. Too bad it's not taken better care of.
Enjoyable course
Easy to get to, wide open fairways, easy to follow the course layout, a couple greens were curling. I don't think they monitor who's going when because we had a few issues waiting and being pushed. Overall, a nice course for the area and a good price.
Good condition
Greens and fairways were in good condition and course had some interesting layout. Club house needs some attention.
Nice course and good value for the money.
I liked the value that this course offers. The course was in decent shape and a good price for 18 holes. Pace of play was fine, and I got through my round in less than 3 hours. I also liked this course had a more natural setting than most courses situated in a neighborhood I've played, and I enjoyed that too. Staff were friendly enough.
Needs work
Could be a very nice course, but needs lots of repair and maintenance.
Tee boxes were in poor shape. Fairways ok in places.
Water leaking from sprinkler system.
Landscaping needs lots of work. Pathways broken up.
Stairways broken and downright hazardous.

Friendly and fun
First time on this course. Great experience overall. Several people were checking in at the same time and staff handled the groups efficiently. No problems with prepaid tee time. From the back tees; there are 3 lengthy par 5’s and a couple long par 3’s. I wouldn’t expect a quick round but if you are one of those who are into speed golf do us all a favor and pick another sport.
