Lakeside Golf Course
About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2025.
Located less than an hour from Tampa and Orlando, LakeSide Golf & Country Club in Inverness has a unique and scenic setting with four holes that play around an abandoned phosphate mine. The challenging layout will test you with long par 5s and a slew of doglegs. Unlike some of the flatter, marshier golf courses you'll find throughout Florida, this layout has rolling, wide open fairways and large, undulating greens. Be prepared for more than 50 strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greens in addition to well placed smatterings of tall oaks and pines. The rough can also be very punishing if you're errant. There are some challenging holes but it's not overly daunting; beginners and casual golfers will still enjoy the golf course. There is also a driving range available at LakeSide Golf & Country Club.

Fairways, greens and bunkers in good shape. It gets weedy pretty quick off the fairway. Enjoyable course with some interesting holes and very friendly staff.
DOGLEG
Lakeside golf course has no lake... LOL That said the layout is interesting & is in okay shape. You can see that at some point maybe 20 years ago someone had a vision of a really nice golf club. For $20 bucks go check it out.
Pleasant First Time Encounter
I was surprised to learn of this relatively nearby course which I had never heard of. It proved to be a nice surprise, although it lacks water hazards. There are lots of well-designed dog-legs and trees. Due to the drought we have been experiencing, the course was a bit dried out, but I think they are doing a good job of keeping it playable. I played in a twosome and was neither held up nor pushed from behind. I was surprised to discover we had completed our round in 3 hours and 15 minutes. I did not enter the clubhouse except to check in and didn't have time for the restaurant, but the facilities look nice.
A little rough
Some of the greens were full of granules Major Bob bounce up and down cannot hold its course The fairways were a little rough but playable mostly a couple of the greens were kind of rough around the edges overall not bad course
Nice design
The course had some difficulty to it. I like the blind shots, and the dog legs. I will definitely play again Noe the I know what to expect.
Night before Easter
It was the night before Easter went on GolfNow hit Hot Deals near me and LakeSide pop up for the price less than 18 Dollars for 18 holes with cart I couldn't say nah. The only bad part of everything there was the Practice green, it was pretty quick but really chewed up.
Fun day at the course
This is a fun course to play. Greens are in pretty good shape and the layout makes the course fair but challenging.
Horrible customer service and greedy
Went there today for refresher lesson to work out some bugs was going to pay $55 for the lesson and some balls for the range ,Young wise guy at the counter wanted me to pay for a cart too so I could get my clubs all the way from the parking lot uphill or carry them to the range, now I'm 55 overweight and a smoker. Everybody already knows that the course is like a cow pasture with flags so you figure they would be a little more friendly for people that do go spend money there, that's not the case, also that I could come there at 1:00 and pay $26 and keep their cart for 4 hours playing one of those long 18 holes cuz of slow play but they couldn't manage to let me have a cart to get my clubs to the range for $55 does that make sense to anybody
Greens not in good shape.Hard to judge speed, cut low.Course needs work, fairways need seeding and watering.Sandtraps like mud.Pace of play was good, weather on the cool side.Overall I would play again for the price I paid.
