Located less than an hour from Tampa and Orlando, LakeSide Golf & Country Club in Inverness has a unique and scenic setting with four holes that play around an abandoned phosphate mine. The challenging layout will test you with long par 5s and a slew of doglegs. Unlike some of the flatter, marshier golf courses you'll find throughout Florida, this layout has rolling, wide open fairways and large, undulating greens. Be prepared for more than 50 strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greens in addition to well placed smatterings of tall oaks and pines. The rough can also be very punishing if you're errant. There are some challenging holes but it's not overly daunting; beginners and casual golfers will still enjoy the golf course. There is also a driving range available at LakeSide Golf & Country Club.

After a few years of disappointing play here the course has come back to a a course that is Fun to play. They’re taken the time and money to make it a golf course to come and enjoy. Keep it on your list of places to play.

The flow on the course was good. Little waiting. But busy

Improving
Course is improving with new management. Enjoy playing the course. Lots of singles out on busy day.
Restaurant is great. Nice outdoor seating. Bathrooms on course are awful. Dirty and not touched.
hold on to your hat
First time playing. Liked the layout. Nice grass on the fairways and greens. Greens rolled true. Had to search for a level stance on the tee boxes. Cart paths in bad shape. I liked the fairways but they are like driving on a washboard. The bumpiest fairways I have ever been on.
Great Value
I have been playing Lakeside a lot this winter because the Hot Deal price has been great. This was my fourth time this winter. The greens, fairways and tee boxes are actually one of the best in the area. I would say that the cart paths need resurfacing. It is a pretty course. Hole 4 needs a better sink hole barrier. My favorite things are the beautiful Live Oaks and the abundance of sand cranes.
