Located less than an hour from Tampa and Orlando, LakeSide Golf & Country Club in Inverness has a unique and scenic setting with four holes that play around an abandoned phosphate mine. The challenging layout will test you with long par 5s and a slew of doglegs. Unlike some of the flatter, marshier golf courses you'll find throughout Florida, this layout has rolling, wide open fairways and large, undulating greens. Be prepared for more than 50 strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greens in addition to well placed smatterings of tall oaks and pines. The rough can also be very punishing if you're errant. There are some challenging holes but it's not overly daunting; beginners and casual golfers will still enjoy the golf course. There is also a driving range available at LakeSide Golf & Country Club.

Bring your long game
First time playing course.Won't be last. Great deal for the money. 594 yard par 5 from the whites on # 3 into the wind was tough.
Some good dogleg holes, One long tight par 3 .
Good change from most Florida courses ,had sort of a links course feeling.
Good course rough needs to be cut somewhat.
Well layed out course. Rough needs to be cut shorter our group and several others spent a lot of time searching for balls just a few feet off the fairway. This rough is like the US open.
Thuis course is oke
Conditions of THE greens and fairways are good, only next to the fairways THE grass is too high.
We hardly could find our balls. And we also lost several balls. THE restrooms are very bad.
But reasonable enough for 10 dollars.
Greens
The greens are in excellent condition. However the rough is very penalizing. The ball sinks down into thick grass.
Not bad for $10
Hot deal for $10 not bad. Any higher and I would stay away from this one. It's an old course that isn't maintained very well. Has a couple of goofy holes and a few interesting holes. The rest pretty straight forward and boring. Greens not in good shape. Not very busy. Was able to play very quickly as a 2 some. If you don't expect much, not a bad value for $10.

This course has great features
Course is built on the edge of a lake, and contains several historical phosphorus mines that dotted the area years ago. These are skillfully incorporated into the course, making challengine, yet fair holes. There are some extremely long par fives; one over 600 yd. But the course has a good balance of being open and forgiving, yet there is an adequate numbeer of hazzards and trees also. Conditon is good, but not great. This time of year in FL is a transition from winter rye grass on greens, to the summer bermuda grass, and it has not fully taken yet.

Great greens! This is a course that lets you hit every club in your bag. Fun course to play with different options off the tee. Great deal with Hot Price.
Do not play this course
I have played some bad course's in FL. but none compare to this one. I have nothing good to say about this place.
Not A 4-Star Course
Picked this because was rated 4-stars. Don't know how it earned that rating. Fairways heavily weeded. A lot of bare spots. Greens better but not good. Would not recommend this course until they improve a lot.
Moderately Challenging
I had a good time playing this course. The staff was friendly, the course was in good shape, and the pace of play was excellent. I will definitely play here again.
Long Course, Average Condition
Lakeview has some very long holes, which get longer on windy days. The fairways are ok, the greens in better than average condition, the sandtraps are poor (they drain poorly turning them into a hard mud/sand mix). Very little water, and like most similar courses with many large oaks, you need to be in the middle +/- 20ft, or they will come into play on your next shot. Several of the dog legs demand accurate tee shots or your next will be a lay up.

Our home course. Very nice some good doglegs with large holes to lose your balls..
Nice layout
The starter was very nice. We were teamed up with a local golfer which was helpful.
The course was fairly flat. The greens were in very nice condition, the fairways were dry, as most courses are this year. The par 5's are long.
Hole #15 a par 3 very nice.
OK course
Course is decent. Very playable. Greens are on good shape. Fairly easy course, but fun to play. I will play again.

Greens were much better than the colour would indicate. Fairways were in poor condition but we all still enjoyed our overall golf experience.
Greens Are Slick
This is a very nice course and fairly easy played from the gold tees...The course is in good shape and the greens run very straight and they are fast...All in all it was a fine day of golf and i would reccomend this course to everyone...

I was immediately impressed with friendliness of staff in pro shop and starter. Course was quite pretty; greens were outstanding. Good speed and very smooth. Fairways were in decent shape for this time of year. Definitely want to play here again!
