Located less than an hour from Tampa and Orlando, LakeSide Golf & Country Club in Inverness has a unique and scenic setting with four holes that play around an abandoned phosphate mine. The challenging layout will test you with long par 5s and a slew of doglegs. Unlike some of the flatter, marshier golf courses you'll find throughout Florida, this layout has rolling, wide open fairways and large, undulating greens. Be prepared for more than 50 strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greens in addition to well placed smatterings of tall oaks and pines. The rough can also be very punishing if you're errant. There are some challenging holes but it's not overly daunting; beginners and casual golfers will still enjoy the golf course. There is also a driving range available at LakeSide Golf & Country Club.

Course needs TLC
Very nice folks. They let me off before a members tournament so I got to play a fast round. The layout has some sharp doglegs that requires you to move the ball if you want a short approach. Unfortunately this course requires some TLC. The greens are in poor shape. Until they get them fixed, I wouldn't recommend playing here.
A challenge, not a delight.
Lakeside has a severe gully running through. Unfortunately, it does not come into play for many holes. This course has always been kind of rough depending on how much rain falls on it. The course was actually plush this time because of large amounts of rain that has fallen over the last several months. Unfortunately, the moisture has adversely affected at least 7 of the greens. That is being addressed but will not be fixed quickly. When I play there, I don't complain about the rough spots, I just accept the challenges of the course and have fun. Also, I tell my friends that I am going to move my ball out of the bare spots that should not be bare and suggest they do the same.
Great value for a good course.
15 of the greens are good. 3 are horrid, but coming back.

Good course at great price
Had not played this course in about 10 years.Nice new Pro shop & clubhouse.Gas Carts worked fine.Fairways were in very good shape,some hilly,some flat,lots of dog legs.Most of the greens were in good shape,maybe 5 needed attention but were playable.Lots of Condo's & Homes,but none come into play.Golf now price was Great.I will be back again.
Good layout. Greens were in poor condition
The course has a great layout. Very interesting and somewhat challenging. Good amount of grass in the fairways, but the greens were in poor condition. Looked like maybe a fungus problem.
