Best 9 Hole in the Area

Been coming here for the past year, great course layout. 2 par 5s, great backdrop scenery (San Gabriel mountains). Highly recommend a cart, but walking is perfect. Range is off GRASS, hello! Hate mats! Little secret, play 9 here, save receipt, go to their sister course Altadena golf course (about 3mile away, if that) play that course for the replay, Get your 18 in for great price.

Golf cart pathways

It was my first time playing this course and it was a nice course to play on but I just did not like the cart pathways. They were very rough and bumpy and they can use some work. Other than that my time playing here today was good.

4 holes then rained out

Despite weather reports showing zero percent chance of rain, it rained enough that we could not proceed past the 4th hole.

Eaton Canyon continues to improve

I am so pleased to say that Eaton Canyon is once again a great golf experience. Fairways are well grasses, if somewhat bumpy. The greens are in fantastic shape, running at an appropriate recreational speed. The course layout has always been one of my favorites, with spectacular views of the foothills on holes 7 and 9. It’s also somewhat of a secret, which is why we played 9 holes in well under 2 hours. If you are short on time and want to play 9 holes of regulation-length golf, I highly recommend playing Eaton Canyon.

Surly closing

I heard that there has been some discussion of closing Eaton so I decided to see what it was it was like. I now understand at least some of the issues; the staff has already checked out. When I first showed up I had to wait for the starter who was in the bar.

The course was okay. A few dry spots but the greens are in good shape.

After 9 holes i went in for breakfast. They gave me the wrong menu then they didnt have what I ordered off the menu. The cook was tne bartender too as the bartender/ waitress was complaining about gow she didnt want to work Sundays. She may soon get her wish including not working Monday througj Saturday, too.

Getting better every week

The return of Eaton Canyon continues to progress well. Fairways are looking great, with good grass on the short-grass areas. Greens are fantastic, very smooth, not a hint of disease or over/under watering. Putts roll true at a reasonable Stimp level. All in all, Eaton Canyon is a delight to play again. My only complaint is that they are a little too willing to send out large groups of 5 or 6. This may be because volume is still low. Pace of play is still excellent, with 9 holes taking just under 2 hours. If you are crunched for time, Eaton Canyon is a great way to play 9 holes of regulation length golf and only costs you 2 hours out of your day.

Very nice course

I really like this course. Elevated tees bigger greens and bunkers with sand in them. I will play here again. 9 hole course with 2 par fives. Nice practice areas.

very slow play

payed for 18 wholes, however, after 5 hrs we ran out of sunlight on the 15th whole.

Players hitting multiple shots from the tee's. Waiting on every shot. No one dropping after hitting into hazards. Long searches to no avail. Did not want to be confrontational, however, did suggest they move along to keep the pace of play up.

No one but a teenager to complain to in the pro shop. They are loosing some of the fairways, so a good drive may be rewarded with sitting in the mud.

Eaton Canyon is almost back

It broke my golfing heart to see the previous management let this golf course fall into such a deep level of disrepair. We used to play here all the time. A 9-hole, regulation-Length course that played in just over 2 hours was a great way to squeeze more golf into a busy schedule. But the drought and generally poor management made the course virtually unplayable.

Then, in September of 2017, management changed. We started hearing rumors that the new management really knew what they were doing, that things were improving. Wanting to see for ourselves, we played two weeks ago for the first time in over a year. I was blown away at just how much better it is than the last time we played. In just a few short months, the greens are pretty good, the fairways actually have some grass on them, in short, Eaton Canyon is playable again.

There is still work to do, but the new company has worked wonders so far and I have no doubt they will continue to improve the course. If you are looking for a quick 9-holes of regulation golf, I highly recommend you try Eaton Canyon. You won’t be disappointed.

Eaton Canyon coming back

Eaton Canyon is coming back! After several years of neglect, the new management company has worked miracles to bring it back to a playable condition in just the few months they have been on the scene. There are still a few places that need work. However, the greens are in good condition, fairways have grass again and, generally, the course is playable now.

If you were a fan of Eaton Canyon in the past or just looking for someplace to play 9 holes at regulation length, I strongly encourage you to try Eaton Canyon.

You get what you pay for.

This was my second time playing at Eaton (first time was a year ago) and the fairway conditions have not improved; picture dead patches, overgrown "rough" (couldn't distinguish which was the fairway and rough, they all looked the same). I understand there is a drought and they are restricted from watering but come on now. How dare you charge $24.95 for conditions that awful. Needless to say I will not return. I would rather go play at Scholl and pay that amount and get to play full 18 holes.

Course has nice scenery

The course is advertised in golf now as an 18 hole course. Well, that means there that you play the 9 holes twice.

Fun Times

I've played Eaton several times now. It's a great 9 hole course with some tricky par 3s and long par 5s. Great way to get in some golf when time is limited.

This course is in bad shape.

I'm not a very good golfer. That being said, I am not very picky. This course was in such bad shape, it wasn't very fun to play. The fairway was like rough, and the rough was pretty much rocks. Even driving a cart was bumpy and not easy to ride through all the rocks. Everyone was nice, and the greens were fine, but I wouldn't recommend this course.
