Go To Hone Course
Live in Altadena and although the dena course is much closer, the conditions and layout of EC are much better in my opinion. I do prefer the range and practice facilities of Altadena, so still use it for that, but EC is the best value for the money in the area, if you don’t feel like playing a more serious course (9 holes).
Not very good
Greens are slow lots of crab grass and defects on greens.
Not what I expected
The course is not in good shape. The fairways were bad, greens not well taken care of and the tee boxes were very bad. I would not play here again.
Eaton Canyon the perfect Executive course
Love this little course. Plays mostly down then back up hill. Has a good variety of holes and allows you to use several different clubs off the tees. Only thing I would improve is the consistency of turf. Some areas have rough with hard dirt that can really hurt your wrists while some is normal. Bunkers are also either hard or soft and not consistent. The fairways are also a little patchy but playing lift and place in fairways is a reasonable adjustment. Otherwise it’s a great course and very fun for a quick 9 holes. I would recommend it if you need a tune up course before going out to a full 18.
Bring all your clubs!
This is like an executive + course, nothing too challenging, but definitely not super easy like a 3 par. Greens were great speed, pace was great (even for 2 4foursomes in front that were essentially one group). Highly recommend for a casual game
Never been off-roading in a golf cart before
I’m convinced the difficulty rating is based on how bad the course conditions are. The layout itself is nothing special, but I had to move my ball nearly every hole to prevent damaging my clubs on gravel and rock.
