The Preserve Golf Club at Tara features Ted McAnlis' par 72, championship golf course. Exceptional care was taken to protect and enhance wetlands and other natural features of the course. At just over 7,000 yards, the course offers four sets of tees, allowing players of all skill levels to enjoy a challenging round of golf. Eleven bridges span the many small streams running through the golf course, protecting natural waterfalls and wetland habitats. A unique feature is the 60 foot Mount Matthew, which sits between the driving zones of hole five and six and forms an impressive backdrop for the tee shot. A beautiful clubhouse is open for lunch daily and is perfect for seminars, banquets or receptions.

I had concerns

I had concerns after reading several negative reviews but found th course to be quite playable and a great value for the area. There were a handful of greens that were bad, but most were playable. It also looks to me like the owners are making a sincere effort to restore the course to what it once was.

The staff were very nice. The course, primarily the greens, was in terrible shape. It appears they are being worked on but it made putting all but impossible. Fairways were just okay. Although I would not recommend this course to a friend while its in its current condition, I would play it again and recommend it once its upgraded.

Condition of course

Course in poor poor condition, the green on one hole was all sand, roads to each hole is bumpy and boards are rotting. Like how it is spaced out and not side by side but course needs work

Rough condition

Green had cabbage patches everywhere ball bounces cant putt and tee boxes were in rough shape the layout is great this course has so much potential but wont be back until it’s maintained

WOW this course is in bad shape

I have played this course many years ago and recalled it favorably. In my opinion, it is a shell of his former self. The greens had weeds growing in them and the grass in the fairway was sparse. when I pulled in, I wondered why the parking lot was so empty on a Friday
