Very picturesque
Nice course with okay fairways. Green were in very good shape. Beautiful scenery. Overall good value.
A surprisingly challenging course
2 couples played on a Monday morning. Tee time was right on schedule and we teed off behind 3 gentlemen. The pace was slow at first as they waited for the 4some in front but later that 4some wad not to be seen yet the pace continued to be slow. The fairways were in good shape and the greens rolled smoothly although a bit on the slow side. Sand bunkers were well kept. The rough was challenging in the unevenness of vegetation but certainly playable with a hybrid or iron. The 19th hole was nice and relaxing. We'll go back.
Great Course All Can Play
Writing this review after my fourth time playing the course, but now I've finally played all three 9-hole segments. My favorite segment is the River Course with fantastic views because 6-7 holes are directly on the Banana River and I often see dolphins playing in the water while on this course. Holes on the River course are generally straight-forward with only the most errant of shots finding trouble (like the aforementioned River). Tee boxes are in moderate shape, greens are large and in great shape with plenty of slope to challenge players easily reaching greens-in-regulation.
The Dolphin course is my second favorite 9-hole segment and offers up a few strategic plays around water hazards that do house gators... so if you get close make sure you check where you're walking. Yardages on this nine do seem to play tricks on your eyes, so having a range finder or GPS is helpful.
The Lake course is my least favorite, but was still fun to play. This is also the easiest nine, and I found myself just pounding the driver every time I stepped to the tee without much worry. That led to many wedges into greens, and a low score... but I missed the challenge. Par 3's on all the courses are relatively straight forward, but are scenic and many offer water penalty for very poor shots.
Most bunkers are in good shape although a few must be hard to maintain and hold water. The on-course beverage cart lady was fantastic, funny, and was good at remembering us personally despite there being a course full of people. That definitely added to the experience. I will be back again.
Not worth the money
The course is not good condition if there is any wind not fun to play very wet after overnight rain staff not very engaging when they see you book with golfnow maybe it a course for the locals. Nice place to build a housing development
Golfnow should remove this course from the list there is no rating on the web
Cocoa Beach golf
It was a light rain off and on during play. There were a few of the holes that were very soft near the green that the water did not drain well. The course played very well considering the wet conditions. The greens were hard and still pretty fast even being wet. If you came up short of the green, the ball would stay right there in the soft front, but if you land on the green, the ball didn't hold very good. Putting was good though, greens ran true. Overall a good experience.
The greens were perfect the rest of the course was awful my cows kept my pastures in better shape
Excellent green but disappointing fairway
Greens were in better shape than the course in general, some work needed around course to bring it up to better shape, net around practice facility were damaged following recent hurricane and were still not repaired. Good value for price but still below par.The view of the Banana river from the course was impressive.
Sharing with friends
Out of town guests and I wanted to share my favorite course with friends. Always love using golf now and so happy this course was available. Hurricane Matthew made things a little wet but on the whole it was great.
Thank You Golf Now.
Post hurricane round
Played the course a week after hurricane Mathew. There were a few trees missing or down, but the course was in terrific shape considering the storm. The greens were particularly nice. Course gets a bit windy due to its location. When going there follow the detour signs in Cocoa Beach.
Poor Pro Shop
The person at the pro shop that greeted us was totally not friendly and started us off on bad taste. It was a little confusing with making sure we were going to the right hole. I think more signs would be beneficial.
Sandy, cart lady, was excellent as well as 19th hole.
Lady at front desk didn't smile and only kept saying you can't start till your tee time but the course was emptied so didn't make much sense.
Fun Course, Steady Light Ocean Breeze!
Greens were in terrific shape. Played 2 of the 3 nines. (River & Lakes) A steady ocean breeze helped to keep us cool on this mid-day round.
Great day for golf.
Tee off the exact hour we booked. Nice breeze coming off the ocean, cloudy, not a bad day for golf.
Play was good. Nobody behind us and the group of us stayed ahead. I like the course because of the scenery and the moderate difficulty of the course. WE played the River for the front 9 and the Lakes for the back 9. Good day!!
Amazing greens
This was the first time i played buy wont be the last. Both courses were well kept and the staff was very helpful!!
Great views and value
Pretty cool location with the river views from all over the course. Condition could have been better, but we haven't had a lot of rain recently, so understandable. Greens were still in good shape. Pace of play was excellent for a Saturday. A lot of straight holes, but enough variety with bunkers and water hazards. I'll definitely go back.
Nice course on the water.
Must have rained the night or day before. Cart path only. Fairways and greens are nice shape. Some of the tee boxes need work.. Had to figure out what the pin positions were on my own.
Greens were in great shape
Course layout had open fairways, rough was manageable. Greens were in great shape. Drinking water on the course many places. Refreshment cart made rounds as well.
River/Dolphin 9's
11:52 tee time w/ wife. for $23/ea thru Golfnow Hotdeal. Old School Florida muni style course. Similar to Placid Lakes CC, Apollo Beach GC. Tee boxes, fairways in good shape. Greens are spectacular & fast. A real fun & challenging course. Employees very nice & obliging, we requested to play River 9 as one of our 9's & they allowed us. Carts in great shape but has no windshield or rain cover in back. Well worth the 1.5 hour drive.
