Scotland Yards Golf Club
About
Scotland Yards Golf Club, as its name implies, has a traditional links-style layout that is reminiscent of the traditional links courses of England and Scotland. It offers the experience of classic Scottish golf with the convenient of being only 20 miles north of Tampa. The golf course tumbles across the gently rolling hills of west central Florida. The course plays long and it features wildly undulating greens that require tremendous accuracy. True to its links nature, there is little water but there are plenty of pot bunkers treacherously lurking throughout. The signature hole is the par-5 second. At 554 yards, it is the longest hole on the course and it is only rarely reached in two. The demanding third shot is uphill to a green that is fiercely guarded in front by two massive mounds and pot bunkers.

Great Value Course
I got a value deal of $20 per tee time. When we got to the course, the location was nice, No driving range was a slight negative, but nice putting green. We were able to head right out at 10:12am. The tee boxes were a little shaggy, but definitely playable. Fairways had grass, which is nice. Greens were a little rough, but overall very puttable. Front nine was wide open, back nine more challenging. For the price we paid, I would say it is a great value. We finished our round at 1:15pm, so a 3 hour round is outstanding. We never saw anyone in front of us and saw one group behind us for 2 or 3 holes.
Should have played Bernadette
Course was a nightmare to navigate. Uneven and unpaved cart paths. Did not have an enjoyable experience with this course. Carts were sluggish to the point where you could throw your back out if not careful. The only positive I can say that greens were contoured making putting challenging.
Nice course overall
Me and my brother drove an hour to play here today. The course is nicely kept up with. It is very wide open with hardly any trees, it is a true links style course. My only complaint was the pace of play. We skipped a hole just to get away with a painfully slow threesome that never offered to let us play through. Then we were stuck behind another painfully slow foursome of old men that could barely hit the ball 50yards. We almost skipped them but I paid 80$ for 2 people so I didn’t want to skip anymore. It’s a good course but there are plenty much closer to me that I like better. The openness of the course made me nervous that I would be hit by some of the real bad hitters .
Exciting course
Course was in good condition. Pace of play was slow. 4 hours in we were on the 14th tee. Thankfully we got rained out.
Great Value
great value for money. watch out for hole #7 very tricky carry to green!
Like it but………
Nice enough track. I will possibly try it again, but I probably wouldn’t bring anyone.
Nice greens, on the smaller side.
Tee boxes okay. Fairways fair.
Carts very dirty, slow.
Cart paths bad.
No driving range. Small putting green.
I scored well, but the overall impression was no higher than three stars.
Scotland Yards
A very enjoyable course to play. There weren’t many players on the course, I assume due to the recent high temperatures. The course was in good shape but the greens were a little slower than normal. Still that didn’t take anything away from enjoying the round. I like this course and the staff have always been friendly and helpful. Will definitely play again soon.
Good for the money
Good course for the money. No issues with pace of play. Greens need some attention. Clubhouse facility staffed with good , friendly people.
Single Round Review
So hot, and on a Thursday, not a lot of players out. The greens ran slow on the front but seemed to speed up on the back9. I enjoyed it but heat made it hard to concentrate because you just wanted to "hit and get" back in the cart and find some shade while your playing partner hit his shot. Will definitely be back.
So so course
The greens were aerated 3 weeks ago and have not fully recovered yet. Somewhat bumpy and quite slow. Tee boxes are bare in many places. Some fair ways have bare spots and are difficult to play from. The course is challenging and fair but needs some help.
