Scotland Yards Golf Club

About
Scotland Yards Golf Club, as its name implies, has a traditional links-style layout that is reminiscent of the traditional links courses of England and Scotland. It offers the experience of classic Scottish golf with the convenient of being only 20 miles north of Tampa. The golf course tumbles across the gently rolling hills of west central Florida. The course plays long and it features wildly undulating greens that require tremendous accuracy. True to its links nature, there is little water but there are plenty of pot bunkers treacherously lurking throughout. The signature hole is the par-5 second. At 554 yards, it is the longest hole on the course and it is only rarely reached in two. The demanding third shot is uphill to a green that is fiercely guarded in front by two massive mounds and pot bunkers.

Very dry course
Course was very dry. Greens bumpy and hard. Fairways looked like they had grass but when hitting from the fairway grass just layer down like hard pan. Not a 40.00 dollar course. Resturant closes at 4:00 so you can get any food. Pretty sad you can’t get anything after your round. Price needs to come down with how the course is currently.
Played here a couple of times on Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. Just played on Saturday afternoon and it was much more open. Really enjoyed it.
The Yard
Good challenging course, especially if you change up your tee box on the shorter holes. A thinking links style course.
Course is very dry
I’ve played this course before. This course needs water. The grass they have in the fairways just lays down. It’s like hitting on hard pan every shot. Greens are bumpy there is no divot in the green if you hit the green. For a 40.00 feet to play this course is way to much. They close the kitchen at 4:00 so don’t plan on getting anything after your round. They have water they can use but I don’t see them using it. Pretty disappointed on how it plays.
Fairways in ruff shape but otherwise green's in excellent condition
This golf course allows too many players to hit more than two balls off the tee box every hole. There is no ranger to monitor slow play. Tee boxes, fairways and greens need watered everyday, they are very very dry. I give this course a 2 star due to hearing the same excuses from the leasing manager about getting this course back in shape. The leasing manager needs to get more outside advice.
Fun Course
Course layout is really nice. Some bare spots in the fairways, but overall in good shape. We had to quit on the 16th hole because of 35 mph winds with a front moving through. Enjoyed the 15 holes and we will be back!
Good course
Having played Scotland yards many times, find it to be enjoyable with better course conditions. Greens and tees are in good shape and like most Florida courses this time of year, sparse fairways
Decent course
Two tee boxes were horrible, most greens were good. One hole still has lots of water. Overall not too bad. I would probably come back.
Greens are great
Greens are in the best shape I've seen there. Beautiful and GREEN, rolling very smooth.
Always has been a great layout. New carts are a nice added touch. Staff is super friendly.
Tees looking good.
Fairways are a bit browned and dry but roll out nicely.
From 50 yards in the approaches and greens are lush, green, and smooth. Tremendous improvements from the past year or so.
Hole #5 is still a bit wet from the flooding from Milton but the tees are moved way up to avoid the soggy first part of the fairway..The other 17 holes, and all 18 greens are perfect. Very well priced compared to just about every other course in the area.
Will keep coming back.
