About
Scotland Yards Golf Club, as its name implies, has a traditional links-style layout that is reminiscent of the traditional links courses of England and Scotland. It offers the experience of classic Scottish golf with the convenient of being only 20 miles north of Tampa. The golf course tumbles across the gently rolling hills of west central Florida. The course plays long and it features wildly undulating greens that require tremendous accuracy. True to its links nature, there is little water but there are plenty of pot bunkers treacherously lurking throughout. The signature hole is the par-5 second. At 554 yards, it is the longest hole on the course and it is only rarely reached in two. The demanding third shot is uphill to a green that is fiercely guarded in front by two massive mounds and pot bunkers.

Just ok golf
The new watering system has improved the fairways and aprons around the greens. The greens still have some weed patches that are mowed level with the grass on the greens, thereby not affecting your putts. There are some bare spots on the fairways but are quickly being covered by the new grass from the aeration system. The course is challenging for the average golfer. I enjoy playing there because of the challenge, the price and the layout of the course.
Very positive experience
The course is in fine shape. The new sprinkling system on .the fairways has made everything quite green there. The greens are a bit slow but I can understand that with the lack of rain that we've had in the last month. It is a challenging course to play because of the length and the layout demanding precise shot making. The snowbirds have gone home so it's quite easy to get a good tee time. I definitely will be playing there again. Hit him straight and good golfing.
Best I've seen it
Was actually quite impressed with the course. I couldn't believe the fairways were in the best condition I have seen there and I played this course many times. Greens in good shape as well. I'm assuming the course is under new mgt? Whatever you are doing, keep doubt it.
Good budget course
Greens are well maintained. Fairways are decent enough for the price. The greens are faster than they look. Overall it’s a good bang for the buck public course.
The course was dry from lack of rain,making fairways and greens dried out and lack of green grass.Greens were hard to read and fairways hard to hit off.The course had a good layout and I will play again.Good value for the money and I recommend playing.
Road travel
Traveling south too Tampa had a chance to stop and play this course..
Had lunch in club house before our tee times.. nice friendly staff food was good and fast..
Was able to tee off earlier than scheduled played in 3 hours and 40 min…
Small greens, little long grass on putting surface.. fairways and tee boxes were in good shape …
Will play again.
Better Scotland Yards
The new owner has improved the quality of the course tremendously, from tee box to green. The staff has done an amazing job keeping this track in good condition. Bravo. I’ll be back to play this friendly but challenging course.
Continues to Improve
Scotland Yard's condition have continued to improve since their new ownership took over. The focus has been on their greens, tee boxes, and fairways and there's been a marked difference in conditions. They have installed new waterline irrigation on the front and I believe the back is next (I only played the front). With addition watering capabilities I believe the fairways will continue to improve. This course is becoming a real sleeper and I look forward to future seasons. The bar staff is friendly, and the shady screened porch is a marvelous place to unwind after a round. The bar is also a great place to have a beverage and watch golf on TV. Awesome hot dogs! It's my new "go-to."

Hole by green
There was a hole between the cart path and the green that I stepped in and twisted my ankle. I haven’t been able to play since.
My golfing partner said that there was a tiny red flag bent over by the hole but I was not able to see it as I am red green colour blind.
They need to have a yellow flag upright not a red one flat on the ground
