Scotland Yards Golf Club
About
Scotland Yards Golf Club, as its name implies, has a traditional links-style layout that is reminiscent of the traditional links courses of England and Scotland. It offers the experience of classic Scottish golf with the convenient of being only 20 miles north of Tampa. The golf course tumbles across the gently rolling hills of west central Florida. The course plays long and it features wildly undulating greens that require tremendous accuracy. True to its links nature, there is little water but there are plenty of pot bunkers treacherously lurking throughout. The signature hole is the par-5 second. At 554 yards, it is the longest hole on the course and it is only rarely reached in two. The demanding third shot is uphill to a green that is fiercely guarded in front by two massive mounds and pot bunkers.

Good course
I have no hesitation in recommending this course. Has a few challenges but generally a good course for everyone. Course was in good shape.
Great Warmup Round
Always love hitting Scotland Yards, its a great course. Weather your wanting to hone your game or just have a nice relaxing round of golf.
Depends on what you're after
Clubhouse is beautiful. Golf course is weird. The front nine looks like it was hastily crammed in as an afterthought. Cart "paths" are nearly treacherous. I think I lost my spleen on one of those bumps.... But, it was inexpensive and a day of golf beats just about anything else...
Better than 3 stars
I was hesitant to book this course because of the 3 star rating it had at the time, but I think this course is much better than that. The front 9 is a little weak, but the back 9 has a lot of nice hole with a good challenge. Overall, the course was in good shape and we moved through fairly quickly. I'd definitely play here again, no doubt about it!
Great Links course in Floida
Played here again a couples of times last month, after not been there for over 2 years and I have to said, I found my self with a great surprise, the course have a new management/Owner who I understand was a former LSU player, he and his team have turn the place around 200%, Greens are fast and smalls, fairway have very well maintained grass, bunker with plenty of soft sand, Club house redone completely and an amazing chef on the restaurant. I can not wait go there again, play a round of golf and have an amazing fillet mignon!
good value for an open scotland style country course
good value for an open scotland style country course with wide fairways, hills surrounded by livestock and homes. fairways and greens in pretty good condition. friendly clubhouse service offering bar, dining, etc...
What a view!!!
Very reasonable Golf Course, playing amid oranges and uphill/downhill drives!. The view from the 4th tee box is awesome. 3-4 blind drives keep it interesting! Hot Dog and Beer deal is a definite plus!
Sunday at the Yards
Beautiful day to play golf. The greens were very fast today. When putting, the ball would rocket off the green if you didn't tap it just right. We were pretty much the last ones on the course with late afternoon tee time, so we didn't feel rushed.
Long course
Even though some holes are long, you can't get in too much trouble. Thirs time out this year, the course was in its best condition this time, both fairways and greens.
Nice course
Fairways need some work. I enjoy this course for the money and pace of play
Unexpected Pleasure
I wasn't expecting too much since knowing the area and other courses in that price range. We arrive 15 minutes prior to tee time and the check-in process was smooth and after getting our clubs and cart we went right out.
Gas carts but other than that it was a pleasant experience. A great value for the money and even included lunch! Would good back, only draw back is distance from my home (45 minutes).
Great layout. Love the people.
I've played Scotland Yards a few times now and as many wonderful golf courses as you can find in the area, it is one of my favorites because of the layout and the staff friendliness. Food is great too. Rolling hills, blind shots and some tricky dog legs that make you thing before you hit. Greens were slow. Slower than they've been here for me.
Sad
From the miserable starter to the dry, burnt fairways, to the unputtable greens and slow, slow play of what I can only guess are locals who think this is their own private course this is a complete waste of money. We had to cut 3 holes just to get ahead of the slow players. Maybe if the starter would drag his butt out to the course he could move things along. Add to this they have doubled the price from last year I won't be back.
Misinformed Course Ranger
I have played this a course a lot and typically I have no problems there with the staff. But today, the Course Ranger was out of line. He tells me to hurry up because we slowing play. No one was even near us, waiting on us, or trying to get around. Then tells me since, I grabbed a hot dog, that I need to skip a hole! NO WAY! Not once were we delaying play. I believe he got our foursome mixed up with another and was ill-advised with his information.
I hope this was an isolated incident because I do enjoy playing here. It was a beautiful day to play golf, and no course ranger was going to ruin that for me.
Nice place
More links than expected. Can be hard to score well. Had a wonderful time. The staff is super friendly.
Great staff
Great value for the money. Greens are good and hard placements, But they are not rolled like more expense clubs
Unhappy coustmer
I am not sure if this is a Scotland Yard problem or Golf Now myself and another set of golfers were at Scotland Yards with booked tee times and Scotland Yards was closed we were not able to play after paying I am hoping after this review either Scotland Yards or Golf Now will fix issue confirmation number is299913424
Playing the Yard on Christmas Eve
It was very muggy and overcast, not your typical Christmas Eve. The course was in good condition. The cart paths were a bit more bumpy then usual, so hang on. The greens were very fast and nicely trimmed. Enjoyed the hot dog lunch after 18.
